I'm not sure if this is true or not but i've read on different forums that a new version is comming out in may.
I would like to believe Nada Usina though who said that nokia wasn't going to make a version of the n-gage.
Am i being dumb and should i just by an n-gage or should I wait and see what happens in the next couple of months?
you could wait a couple of months. Till it is out then wait an extra month to decide if its worth it and then you might have to wait till you got the cash. I suggest if you find the n-gage for a cheap price get it. you will have a great phone and when the new one comes out you can wait till the pricess fall and then buy it and give your old n-gage to friend or family or just keep it as a back up. I bought an n-gage even though i am waiting for the sendo x because i am looking at 3 months before i buy it even though it is already out in italy.
The design of the N-Gage 2 started long time ago,even before the N-Gage was released,so i won't be surprised if it pops up arround Q2-Q3 2004.
If the N-Gage satisfies your needs NOW, then buy it. If it doesn't, then wait. If it DOES, but you want to wait for more features, then I fear that you'll never get a decent bit of tehc, as something better is ALWAYS just around the corner.

Seems like theres alot changed since i last visited. I hope to god they bring out the 7700 at the same time as the N-Gage 2. And i hope they dont just call it the 'N-Gage 2', or the 'N-Gage i'.
I bet alot of people will be kicking themselves after buying the N-Gage for xmas, when they realise a newer version is out soon. I know ill be bored of my N-gage come Q3 anyway so ill be more than happy to change fone.
Given previous Nokia news release, it may well be announced in May, but not available till September or October. I'll say it again, if it works now, get it now. You want to wait 9 months and get jealous of everyone who has one, but you don't? Seesh.

I bet everyone will buy the new version will be crying when Nokia will annouce the new version in Q2-Q3 2005 ... there are rumors that the new version will have a camera, better than PSP graphics and will make exceptional italian coffee!! Seesh, I say WAIT until N-Gage 3 is out if you are REALLY REALLY SMART ...

Ewan points out too, if it meets your needs NOW, well, then if you can, why not. As soon as people buy the N-Gage "2" there will be the 3, and so on. Thus is the case with every bit of technology. Now it's one thing to get something only to find out that the successor is being released like the following week, like they do in the PDA world a lot.

Some people say N-Gage it's crap as a game console, it's expensive etc. ...
I had to change phone and I had the idea to combine it with a good mp3 player.
Nokia 3300 has it, but cost the same as N-Gage ... I told to myself : why pay the same for having less??
N-Gage should be buyed by LOTS of people.
The other night I saw a nice girl with a 6600 ... MUCH more expensive than N-Gage, no mp3 player, no radio, very hard to play with. I wonder if she even KNOWS what is a Symbian OS ... what's the point in spending SO MUCH for something you won't EVER use??

I have a couple of girlfriends that know their way arround Symbian.BTW:Most of the use more complicated Symbian devices,like the Communicator or the p800 and not Series 60.
i've got n-gage for few months now. When n-gage 2 or smth will come out. i'll buy it 😃 anyway, i bought my n-gage for 0.50 euro 😃 😃 😃 and i can get any nokia phone for 0.50euro (1lt). So it isn't a problem to me to buy a new phone. 😃 wating for new n-gage....
