Sorry I accidently posted this in the p800 forum...
I dont know if anyone has discovered this yet but this wasnt on the P800 and I never took noticed of it up until now!

When you send send MMS you no longer have to go through all your list if you want to send the message to a group of people because you have an option to view only the names in your categories! This is great! For example if you want to send a message to your personal contacts only, or business contacts only.. I think you get my point! Well, I consider this as a magnificent discovery for me! I dont know how blind I was not to notice it! I cant believe it!

Enjoy and Happy New Year!! Becareful when playing with fire crackers since its very hard to text with your feet if you accidentally blow your fingers off!

Well first of all to make this work you must create categories on your address book,eg: Families and relatives will have one folder, business partners another, friends will have another folder. After creating these folders you then assign your contacts to them. So when you are looking for a friends number, you dont have to go through all the other numbers, but if you've forgotten where you've placed it you can click on "all" anytime and it shows all numbers.

Now, after that, when you create a new message, click on the buttin "to" or the addressbook icon beside it, it then takes you to the "checkbox/ticker" screen which allows you to to put check marks on the people you want to send that particular message too. Heres an example: If you want to send a "Merry Christmas": message to all your office mates and you happen to place all there number on "business" then you simple choose the business categories and put checkmarks on ever name 😊 As to having yo go through all the numbers. Well, hope that helps, heres one more pic to make it clearer.

Yah, it does make life easier, but still has the problem that you can't have contacts in more than one group.

Generally (and in Outlook) I need the put contacts into several groups depending on the context (and content) of the message or email that I am sending.

BTW, I noticed that the P900 created 'VoiceDialGroup' and 'RingToneGroup' and moved my contacts from their original folder into these groups. I moved them back and deleted the groups and haven't played with them since

Anyone know, or care to surmise, what the point of these two additions might be?

The one shows all the people that have there own ring tones the other all the people that have voice dailing.

On my phone p800 and p900 the people where also in there original folders.
Dont know why it would have moved them on your phone?

On the subject of grouping SMS's I've been using the folders and its very usfull, but it would be very helpful to have a simple:
'check all' option that could save a lot of screen tapping.

Yup, like I said above, that would probably the first thing we will see.. well... Unless of course the new CONTACTS MANAGER will come out 😊

From another thread, it looks like Quick Contacts might be addressing our requests...they do appear to listen to feedback and add in additional features pretty quickly...

Here's hoping!!

Cheers
