Can i charge my phone while i still have alittle battery or do i have to wait untill the phone is completely discharged
connecting it to the charger before the battery is zero can that decrease my battery's life,or is it alright to charge it at anytime?
Question about charging the phone
Its alright to charge it anytime! 😊 Our phones dont have or will not get the affected by the "memory effect" concept anymore! 😊 I keep my phone charged at home, car and when im in the office 😊
Cheers and Happy New Year!
our batteries are lithium polymer i think, or something like that, it has no memory so you can charge it when it's at 94 if you want,
It may not have memory effect but I remember reading that its limitation is the number of charge / discharge cycles, so the best thing is to run it (almost) down, before charging, to keep the cycles to a minimum.
I would say "all the above"!
The battery does not suffer from any significant memory effect, so you can charge it whenever you like; I have cradles at home and work, and tend to park the phone on that all the time (the advantage being that it doesn't lock in this mode -- saves a second or two when you want to use it).
The limit on charge cycles is based on full recharges (i.e., 0 to 100%), and is linear across that, so if you recharge from 50% to 100% you have only used 1/2 of a recycle. In practice the number of charge cycles before the battery degrades is so large that you won't see the battery fail during the life of the phone (unless you are planning on keeping it for more than a few years).
BUT
The manual, and experience, indicates that when the battery is new, it seems to benefit from several complete discharge cycles; a brand new battery doesn't last anywhere near the advertised lifetimes, but seems to improve if you fully discharge it then recharge it four or five times during the first few weeks.
After this there seems to be no effect/benefit in doing this.
I agree 100% with everything Jules G says appart from the last sentance. It may be just my imagination, but I've found that, after a few months, battery life does tend to degrade noticeably and that repeating the discharge\recharge cycle a few times brings battery life back up to what it was.
