I am looking for the best way to use my P900 as a GPS using bluetooth.
Are you using this, Could you tell me what is for you the best solution?
Thank you very much in advance.

I am surprised there is not more debate about GPS on the P800/P900 forum.
I have just exchanged a Garmin handheld (Xmas present!) for an Emtac Bluetooth unit to use against my P800. In my view, Garmin is too closed and proprietary whereas Symbian has the **potential** to deliver great GPS apps utilising an offboard receiver such as the Emtac device. Right now though, there aren't many apps available!!
I have tried Monas (www.rpcsoftware.co.uk) already and although a relatively simple app, it installed and worked against the Emtac really well. With a few more mods, this could be a great little app.
What I also need is a UK speed camera app (such as Traffic Cam for Series 60) and a cheaper version of Wayfinder.
Beyond that, I don't see a great deal else available - unfortunately.
I am waiting for buying the best solution in this sense. I think wayfinder is trying to give us the best solution, but users at the moment think that is better to wait, it is said that traffic an updates are not solved yet.
I want to buy a GPS for my P900, and Wayfinder is 500. It is to thing twice.
What about monas do you think it is enough? Could I test it? I don't have GPS. You talk about EMTAC, is it good?
Thanks.
GPWare released GPMobile for the Pxxx. It's voice activated. So technically all one needs to do is to have their phone and gps receiver close by. You can get voice navigation right over the phone. It seems that you can connect it to most BT GPS receivers. I haven't looked into wayfinder and I'm not sure if I could simply use a different GPS receiver with it. If that's the case then I can just buy the Wayfinder software once its refined and not have to shell out the extra bux for their receiver. Can someone clarify whether their software is compatible with 3rd party BT GPS receivers.
Wayfinder works perfectly with all Bluetooth GPS receivers that are compatible with the standard NMEA 2.0 or higher. I use it with a Pharos iGPS360 (thus, not the GPS receiver bundled with Wayfinder), and I've no problems at all. The software isn't maybe as refined as some PocketPC counterparts yet, but it already does what it should do and does it well: bring you to a desired destination.
I got my Socket Com receiver working perfectly. I got word from one of the engineers that GP Mobile is due to launch in Europe very soon. I think it will give Wayfinder some big competition. I've been using GP M for about a week now and the spots feature is an exclusive feature that I think may have some meaningful uses... It's litteraly like placing a bug on someone and having the ability to track their location and movement. How cool is that!!!
