can anyone give me detailed instructions on how i can possibly connect and transfer files through my nokia n-gage to my computer? i dont have blue tooth but i've heard theres other ways, detailed instructions please!!!
connecting using USB
Please search the forum.
Thread Locked!(Why doesn't this ever work for me)😃
firstly what windows do you have?
For win98 you need to install some drivers before you can transfer files.
For XP just plug in usb and your n-gage(mmc) should come up as a removable media drive in my computer.
Just an add-on to this ...
When people connect using USB, can they only see the MMC card?
Is it possible to access the on-board storage via USB?
Much appreciated.
p.s. searching for "N-gage USB" is not possible due to not being able to search for terms of less than 4 characters.
For dearching try n-gage usb* where * is a wildcard and can be anything including a space. I learned this to so I pass the knowledge on. As for accesing the n-gages internal memory via usb it can not happen as far as i know bucause nokia in its wisdom thought that we would want to use a bluetooth dongle to do that and a piece of software. The truth is I am guessing they didnt want us to be able to access the n-gages internal memory to avoid confusion for newbies.
sorry to ask, but the bottom line is then that you can or cant use the N-GAGE as a usb MMC card reader/writer?
I have a 6600 and am looking at getting a ngage for games and figured i could use it as a reader writer for my 6600.

i never knew that😱 😱 😱
True enough, I didn't know that. Thanks Shadow12.
Shame about the USB access to internal store (unless anyone can prove otherwise).
Not the end of the world though ... direct USB access to -any- storage is a very welcome step in the right direction.
You can use yout n-gage as an mmc reader writer for your 6600.
Kind of an expensive mmc reader writer but hey!
Thanks shadow,
the fact that i can use it as a MMC reader/writer makes the N-GAGE even cheaper for me.
N-Gage are 129 now (woolies/Amazon) and a MMC reader writer is around 20 so it effectively makes the N-Gage 110.

I know its kinda been answered already but i thought id add my bit 😃
So far you cant access the internal memory of the N-Gage. Its a similar problem to being unable to store messages on the mmc. Hopefully its just something to do with the firmware, but the only solution to it is using bluetooth.
Something else that i figured out today (kinda thick of me not to realise this sooner!) 😃
You can view the system folder of your fone thru usb! 😃
Maybe im the only slow one here, but if ya allow hidden folder/files to be viewed it shows the system folder when you open the removeable drive.
