Programming for A920

Hi
I'm new to the A920 but I did develop for the Psion 5 and Psion 3 using OPL and am interested in getting back into it.

Can anyone help with the following?

1) Symbian UIQ_21 emulator on XP
When loading it says it hasn't been tested on XP and I can't get it to work even after setting the EPOCROOT variable etc. does anyone know if it works on XP ? (and if so any handy hints on getting it working)

2)OPL
Is there a version of OPL that will run on this phone /UIQ/Symbain 7.0 OS?
If so where can I get it/what do I need )I have searched but can't find anything)

3) In the absence of OPL any other suggestions apart from C++ and java (experimenting with Flash now)

Thanks in advance

1) I have tested it personally and it is working on my XP. Just make sure you install EVERYTHING. If you have allready done that, tell me what error you are getting

3) It is an ingenuity to use flash but you are not taking advantage of the graphics and CPU

Thanks for this - after some persistence I've managed to get it working on XP now - it was an issue around get the root variable right in the end and as it had thrown up the XP message when loading I wasn't sure

Cheers

Hi,

aside from this OPL thing, does anyone know what i need for C++ or Java programming? i'd love to write custom stuff for my A920, and i'm a competent C++ and Java programmer, but i really need a suitable compiler and library.

also, there seems to be various different flavours of Java for mobiles, which does tha A920 support? J2ME, Personal Java, various other buzzwords i hear being thrown around...

Thanks,
Neko 😃

Since the A920 runs UIQ it should support both J2ME and Personal Java.BTW:The tools should be the same as for the P800/P900(Codewarior)
