Nope, it is not possible at all!
It could be possible but would involve alot of lowlevel hacking and High Level Emulation. I doubt anyone would try to do it because it is probably not commercial viable because I guess the Nokia Gods would hunt down the poor soul that tries to sell something like that.
If someone donates a Ferrari to me I could do it 😉
Best regards,
Andreas
Well, how did the N-Gage hack work anyway?
I expected N-Gage mobiles would contain special chips for multimedia application support (e.g. 3d rendering), but these people cracked the software and ran the games *with no difference* on a high-end Siemens phone (if I recall this correctly).
Does this phone have the same chipset or are N-Gage games living without special HW support from the device? Are they even (I would be very surprised) written in Java?

N-Gage uses the Nokia Series 60 UI/Shell. The hack allowed N-Gage games to be played on other Series 60 phones. The P900 is a UIQ device. Series 60 software won't work on UIQ devices without MAJOR porting and is almost impossible without access to the source.
I haven't played a n-gage game so I don't know how much of the standard Series 60 UI gadgets thats used, but I thougth that most of the games has their own and don't use the standards ones.
But ofcourse you would need to port the ones that is used by the game(s). But it probably differs from game to game so if ya want to make sure all games is playable you'd need to port the whole Series 60 :|
I don't think the games to this point uses any special HW so thats why you can run the games on other Series 60 phones.
Best regards,
Andreas
True,no special HW but what about something less optimistic, although very unlikely to happen, like a GBA emulator? 😉
I have to little understanding of the GBA architecture to make a emulator for it. And I'm not really motivated to do it either 😊
Actually I don't think it would be to hard to make a Series 60 (ngage) emulator for the UIQ but it would take alot of time as you need to reimplement the whole (or parts of) the Series 60 API.
Actually it sounds like a fun project but my schedule is kinda hectic 😊
Does anyone know of a small n-gage game? I have Sonic N at the moment and it seems small, but is there any smaller?

But then you have to come up with some way of controlling the game! Lacking the Series 60 joystick, UIQ is never going to be great for action games. Unless someone can get the SE Z600 Gamepad adaptor to work with the P900 of course! 😃
Puyo Pop is the smallest N-Gage game, about 2MB.
Ah, N-Gage is Series 60. I didn't expect that. Then again, I didn't think it was UIQ either. So, I guess, I didn't do too much thinking 😛
Speaking of emulators: does a MAME port exist already?
I don't think a Series 60 emulator makes much sense, unless the UIQ and Series 60 are somewhat similar. Have the UIQ APIs evolved from Series 60, i.e. is UIQ something like "Series 70"?
BTW: it surprises me a lot that N-Gage doesn't contain any HW support for games.
Wouldn't you expect that from a mobile explicitely targetted towards games? Since N-Gage is presented as a platform for games, it also has to offer some longevity to developers.
If it is all in software, we can't expect the typical speed up and advanced features from games squeecing out more and more from the underlying hardware.

emame (scroll down) <-- loads of other good free apps here too. including edoom which is really good fun, but impossible to control. You can also get emame for series 60, but on both of them, it's only possible to play small games, i've yet to find one small enough to play 😞

There isn't any question of "evolving" here. UIQ (www.uiq.com) has nothing to do with Nokia's Series xx. UIQ and Series 60 share the same core OS (Symbian), even different versions of that, UIQ runs on top of Symbian 7.0 whilst Series 60 runs on top of Symbian 6.1 and 7.0s.

Actually I find it quite easy to control, you just have to spend a few minutes configuring the controls. I almost played through the entire, full version of Ultimate Doom on my P800, and now I'm flaying Doom II on my P900. 😃

I disagree!Have you seen games like THPS or FIFA 2004.THPS is almost identycal to the PSone version and FIFA,i really can't say much about FIFA except that its bloody amazing!!Ewan did a small review on FIFA 2004
