Hi all,
Just joined this forum and just bought a 6600 this weekend on Orange.
I have a question I would be grateful if somebody knew the answer to...
When I send an MMS (charged per message), this uses the GPRS connection and increments the phone's GPRS data counters - does this mean that Orange charge me for the data consumed on the GPRS link in addition to the per message charge ?
Thanks in advance...
Oh, and my phone is missing call divert options also - it's on contract - this just seems wrong.

when sending a picture message all you get billed for is 25p for a single message and 50p for a message with more than 1 pics. Call divert is not on any of the 6600s on orange. dont ask me why but i will be looking into it and when i find out i will let you know.
No tit does incremenet the counter as the counter records all data sent/recieved ascross all APN's but MMS it goes though a different Access Point (APN) and you are billed per message and it does not count as GPRS data.
MMS go though the OrangeMMS APN and Data goes though Orange Wap or Orange MMS.
When I first had my contract I had MMS enabled on my phone but I couldent use GPRS 😉 it wasent until 2 months later when I asked for GPRS when they let me use the Orange Wap and Orange Internet APNs
Ah, good - thanks for the info guys 😊
I think it is now established that the Nokia 6600's on Orange do not contain the "call divert and call waiting" menus.
How / when Orange plan to rectify this is unclear from staff in the stores or via OCS on 150.

Ah, I hadn't Orange had realised the phone now - does that mean that a new firmware has been released to resolve the lack of voicemail notification?
For anyone who has bought their 6600 from Orange - what's the firmware version *#0000# ??
I read in the newsgroups that the Orange had a new firmware for their 6600 release
v3.49.1
05-12-03
NHl-10
Missing divert/waiting menus can be added via a SIM update message from Orange.

i think that is the current version of F/W for the Nokia 6600
