There are few features that are lacking on this particular model (Nokia 6600)
The ringtone is too soft to be heard. E.g. while placing phone on the front shirt pocket without blocking the loudspeaker, when the phone rings, the ringtone hardly heard.
The phone only display the last timing (for received, missed and called timings). E.g. if you have 10 missed call, it will just display the timing of the last missed call.
No chinese software is installed.
No auto-keypad lock compare to Nokia 6510.
Please think twice when getting this phone. Suppose nobody would like to constantly check on his or her phone for missed called due to soft ringtone.
IMO, 6600 is great. Maybe the quality of your tone isn't good? or your speaker is faulty? Try different tones and different formats, if all is too soft then bring your phone to the nearest Nokia center and ask for maintenance. If that is a week old, ask for replacement.
I still have my 7650 & 3650. I'm keeping them even though I'm using 6600. 6600 is much much better than 7650 & 3650. From dynamic memory to video, sound and image quality.
I totally agree with daniatt. It may have some bugs but that's how phones are on their first versions. I once had the Siemens S45 and I remember taking it 3 times to the service and a version number like v21! This is how phones are, especially when they run an operating system of their own and handle tasks, files e.t.c..

While you are entitled to your opinion, I feel inclined to disagree with it on all 4 counts.
1) As daniatt said, maybe your speaker is at fault, or the ringtone is just too quiet. Ringtones I've tried are very loud (remember to increase the volume of the tone in the profile) and I can hear my phone ring no problem, even in noisy atmospheres.
2) I believe the Log application shows all of your missed/received/dialled calls.
3) That isn't a problem for most people. If you do need Chinese support, can you not ask Nokia for the Chinese software to be installed? Or buy a Chinese phone with the support already installed?
4) Yeah, okay, maybe it's not as good as the 6510's lock (I haven't used a 6510 though), but I find the autolock quite good. It's better then the standard keypad lock in the respect that you can't accidentally dial 999 (or 112) like you can even when a keypad lock is enforced.
I like my 6600. You're entitled to your own opinion, fair enough, but I'm also stating mine. 😊
Cheers

No auto-keypad lock compare to Nokia 6510.
To set up the auto key lock proceed as follows:
Menu
Tools
Settings
Security
Phone and SIM
Lock Code (enter any password you like)
(If in doubt, the old password is "12345"😉
Autolock period
My only problem is that the autolock period forces you to choose a number of hours or minutes. I want only 45 second....
Having had the 7650 for more than a year I think the 6600 is an improvement to the loudness of both the loudspeaker and while talking on earphone. You should have tried the 7650, no way you could hear it especially while driving.
Beleive it or not I had to turn the volume down on my 6600 while talking!
HEY! TRICKYT don't take the longest way to do that...
To lock the 6600
just press the POWER button one time and select LOCK PHONE on the MENU! 😮 and put the code...
😃 isn't easy?

The problem is some people expect to much from the 6600.I've seen people that are surprised with the lack of stereo output or FM radio, after they bought the phone.Doesn't anyone read these days?
