assigning special ring tones

does anyone know how to assign spacific ringtones to certain people?

if it's not possible does anyone know an application that will do it?

by the way, i'm just wondering does anyone know of an application for the computer to edit and adjust .wav .mp3 or .midi files so i can cut certain segments out of them and turn them into a ring tone?

Quite simple, really: Open a contact -> Options -> Ringing tone

You can also assign a ringing tone to a group. In the Contacts app, create a new group, add the person to it, and then assign a ringing tone to the group.
