I swaped my N-gage for a SE P800.1:1 so it was a good deal for me,but this phone is such a sh*t comparing to n-gage😡
I have to get N-gage very soon! and i have a question: if i made a phone memory backup on my MMC card, when i'll buy a new phone and put this memory card in,what to do then??I couldn't find any :RESTORE FROM BACKUP FILE option or sth like that. And what is in this backup file??maybe saves from games??😃 (i've almost finished pandemonium and THPS

Wat with the release of Phillips Camcoder, possibly it wasnt such a bad deal. I persoanlly wudnt of done it myself thou!

well i have one for sale if you want it

chris😊

So i got a new N-gage and I'm happy again😊 But You know what?I put my old MMC in it,there were games, photos, and backup file on it.And it didn't work!!At all,i couldn't even go to main menu ,phone was switching off automatically. So all this backup makes no sense,I had to format the memory card anyway, and i couldn't even do it in my n-gage,lucky for me that i have a Minolta Dimage X camera that works with MMC.
And another thing that pissed me off a little-there was about 100kB on my memory card after formating in my camera, when i formated it later in my N-gage it took about ten minutes!!And in camera it took about three seconds with full MMC.
But I'm happy anyway.Welcome back guys😊

Welcome back!
I know there are some issues nokia needs to rethink but think of it this way it works and you can use it and it is fun. Thats all nokia set out to do. Ok some people with windows 98 face sevear problems but other than that generaly it is pretty easy to use.

p800 is really crap?!?!Are you for real, the p800 is not even comparable with the N-Gage,Its an awesome device, its just that some pople are not meant to use it.😉

Really??
Hmmm,let's see:
1)how much time it takes You to copy 1 mp3 song to Your P800 comparing to copying to N-gage?
2)how much time it takes You to make a ringtone from an MP3 on Your computer?
3)show me any interesting games on P800 (lol)
4)I tried goboy, all the games that are working perfect on N-gage were not working and only way to close the Goboy it was to turn off the device
5)when Your p800 is playing a midi file as a message signal, how long it's playing until You're able to take it out of Your pocket, and go through all the menus to open the message
6)Midi's playing as a message tone are soooo quiet comparing to n-gage (the same midi!)
7)do You want a writing contest??I bet that i will write more than twice as fast on my n-gage than You on Your p800.Writing recognising works good, but still,it takes a lot of time to write something.
8)show me how can You delete all the contacts in Your phone not doing it one by one...
9)one of the most annoying things-when You think that You've closed the application, they are still runing taking Your battery and memory,You have to go to task menager and close it one by one...
10) And where's the radio??
11)can You record an MP3 directly from a hifi set??No??uuuuu😊
12)show me any interesting application that doesn't have the same one working on N-gage
and i had that phone only for a couple of days!!!
of course there are pluses too😊
1)Sound quality is better than in N-gage,I have to admit that nokia still can learn something about that from Sony
2)display is bigger (but still,i think that pictures look more natural on N-gage!)
3)It looks really cool without a flip😊
oooo,that's it??12 to 3??
Sorry...I must be not meant to use P800...Poor me😃

It takes about 3-4 seconds using a cheap card reader.

EDoom, and games such as Monkey Island, Day Of The Tentacle etc. using the EScummVM emulator. Many people think the Px00 can't be used to play "action" games, but they are wrong. It all depends on the creativity of the programmer. Peter van Sebille, author of EDoom got it just right (IMO). Besides, the P800 -unlike the N-Gage- wasn't designed with gameplaying in mind. The Px00 is a serious tool, business or otherwise, whilst the N-Gage is just another funky looking kids toy from Nokia (although feature-rich, this time).

Sigh.. What moron would use a long cr@ppy midi file, when you can use a short loud wav file to alert you of new messages..

6)Midi's playing as a message tone are soooo quiet comparing to n-gage (the same midi!)

See above.

Hahaha, that's the biggest joke, ever. You obviously was way out of your league using a P800. I bet you I can write more than THREE TIMES as fast you, just tapping on my P900 on screen QWERTY keyboard. Series 60 is nice and all, but it's a joke when it comes to any serious PDA use (i.e text input, navigation, and screen size/resolution).

8)show me how can You delete all the contacts in Your phone not doing it one by one...

Why would you want to delete all your contacts at once?

9)one of the most annoying things-when You think that You've closed the application, they are still runing taking Your battery and memory,You have to go to task menager and close it one by one...

Symbian is a multitasking OS, applications get closed down by the OS when it needs to free up memory. Only badly written 3'rd party applications might affect your battery when running in the background. The default - and well written apps- won't affect your battery at all, running in the background. If you want a task manager there's many free ones a download away.

10) And where's the radio??

Radio..? 🙄 It's called the HPR-20 ( do a Google search).

12)show me any interesting application that doesn't have the same one working on N-gage

There are lot of similar applications, being as they are both running Symbian, it's only logical. But again, NAVIGATION, TEXT INPUT, SCREEN SIZE. Three small points that makes the Px00 ever so much more easy to actually USE running those applications.

2)display is bigger (but still,i think that pictures look more natural on N-gage!)

Maybe so, but have a look at the P900 display, it blows every other "phone" out of the water.

Sorry...I must be not meant to use P800...Poor me😃

Precisely! Obviously the P800 was never meant for you, and as long as you are satisfied with your N-Gage it's all good. 😊

Cheers,but I'm getting new N-gage tomorrow morning!😊 P800 is really a crap...

i don't understad why you need to compare a enterainment and gaming based device with a business device... n-gage has better games maybe, because N-Gage is the gaming device... not P800. i have N-Gage now but i've used P800 for a while and i found it awesome. and again i don't think these 2 devices are comparible in your criterions.

OK,my turn😉
Of course I'm not saying that P800 is not a device invented for business users. As for the games,I'm sure that You've seen more of them then me(although saying that if there's a doom there are good games is not right with me😉 )so i"m not arguing about it with You.
Hmmm,i was talking about possibility to turn off playing signal,I know that it can be shorter BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!
Don't push Your luck betting against me if it's about writing the messages😉 Couple of years ago on my nokia 3210 (which for me has the best keyboard ever!!) i was always 3 letters ahead before they appeard on the screen. Now on N-gage i'm not much worse😉 And of course there is T9...
Why would i like to delete all my contacts? When You getting rid of the phone just like i did...Isn't a good reason?i had to delete over 100 of them one by one...😡
I admit ,i didn't know about the radio, but still,in N-gage is already "on the board"!You don't have to do anything...
You're are saying couple of times about navigation...How many people are actually using it...??let's be real...
You're saying that P900 display is better...Who cares?Did i say anything about P900?
ok,I don't wanna argue in any way. Both of them are good, both of them have advantages and disadvantages.Just please, don't tell me that i shouldn't judge them or they're not for me,because trust me,i had over 100 mobiles in my life,i always tried to push them to the limit of its possibilities, and i know what i'm talking about...
Regards
rottie
Peace?😉

Not here.N-gage is about 150 pounds,SE P800 about 190.Both of them second hand, but there are sales for example in Orange (that's UK network) N-gage and two games for 149.90...
