i bought a nokia 6600 last weekend and from what i read i think i have a faulty fone or a cut down version of it.
1 - Ringtones are really quiet(i hae tried all supported formats)
2 - There was no trial software on the mmc card
3 - battery lasts about a day thats it i have to recharge it every night(strange compared to other nokia models)
is it just me or is everyone experiencing these problems
any help would be apreciated

Just swap it out, before your 14 days are up.
Nothing of that you tell about the phone are normal things...
That phone you got it's damage or somthing like that..
Return that...
cya!

thanx for the answers
i was wondering does any one know if i can cancell the contract before the 14 days thing runs out

my ring tones are ok,I didn't even look in the original MMC,just put in my "old" one (128MB) but my battery is the same as your...
krassen, welcome to the forum 😊
But try next time you choose a more specifec subject for your thread, just to know what it is all about. 😊
1) Yeah the 6600's speaker kinda crap, try to use WAV files as ringtones, ways better than MIDI's.
2) IMO: your lucky! That's better than filling the MMC with trial apps (about 20MB's), you can download a trial version of almost every apps out there.
3) My battery lasts for 1.5 days max. But I charge it daily.
This is really funny, when someone says that he doesn't like something about his 6600 you will see loads of replies saying that the phone is faulty or/and that he should return it.
Guys, there are quite a few phones with a better speaker or a better usage time then the 6600.Some people have higher standards the others. The 6600 is a great device, but it has its downsides and there are better devices out there.I'm not trying to start a war here, that is why i didn't say which ones are better.
My point is,lets be honest, like RayGun and Special here.Do you really want to send someone to a possibly long roadtrip just because you thougth that 6600 is the coolest things since sliced bread?
Well I don't know what I'm doing, but I use my 6600 during the day quite a lot (until Christmas I worked for a telco in the UK), and I get at least 2 days from my phone between charges, and that's using a bluetooth headset when I'm in the car too 😕

Hey GhostDog,
I haven't exactly been extolling the virtues of the 6600 either.
As seen in this thread > http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18753
but from what the guy said about his phone, it sounds as though he got it off the back of a lorry; so to speak. All 6600's come with apps pre-installed etc. It just sounds as if he has been sold a ringer (no pun intended) tbh.
The 6600 has quite a few shortcomings..battery-life being a big one.
So please don't include me in the 6600 fashion brigade 😉
Cheers
No problem Yakkob,i'm not including you in the 6600 fashion brigade 😃 I didn't mean to offend anyone,it just seems to me that 6600 owners are more defensive about their phones then any other non 6600 Symbian phone owners 😃

All 6600's DON'T come with apps on the MMC, you twit.
The models sold in Asia do not.
I have a Rose coloured Nokia 6600 from Asia (it is English) that goes for 3 days on one charge.
I am not defending anything...this is the simple truth.

Insulting other members is not permitted on AAS. Be nice to each other.
Incidentally, my 6600 also does not come with pre-installed applications - no Opera, no try & buy, no nothing.
