Got the 6600 and am upgrading from the 7650.
Firstly better screen, quite noticable, sharper brighter and of course much better colour depth(no banding on pics).
Boot up a bit slower, phone generally very slightly slower than the 7650, but still perfectly acceptable.
Nice to hold in hand, the 3650 is awful, this one fits hand just right and 1 hand use is a doddle.
I had the nokia video recorder on the 7650 and to be honest it was better, not quality, the 6600's is sharper, but just ease of use, none of this gallery crap, the videos were just here when you opened the app.
Had a shed load of problems accessing wap using 02 pay-go, works fine on 7650/3650 so why not 6600?
Turned out (with help from this forum) that the settings over the air from o2 (used 3650 ones) don't put ip address in advanced options, so did it manually and happy days.
o2 are no fookin use with this as usual.
Doesn't feel as tough as the good old 7650, and I know I'll be calling loads of people by mistake when forgetting to lock the keypad.
Bit dissapointed by the wap cache(I think maybe you can adjust it) downloaded 2 video files 1st 60kb the 2nd 150 kb and it failed out of memory had to clear cache and try again.
Love the download indicator though, reads % complete and kb's downloaded, very nice.

Only had it 2 hours so just first impressions.
Should have an mp3 player fer crissakes, even though its mono, piss poor having to get an aftermarket app.
Why doesnt realplayer play them ,goodamm shisters that lot down at real.

Looks lovely though, cannot fault the styling, looks great from every angle.
I know most people here have allready got one, just mumblings for people on the fence.

Is it full comaptible with 6600? (the last real one player i mean). Can u post a link where to get it?
Thanks

apparently it is compatable although i dont have any experience with it i have ordered my phone from o2 monthly and there service for getting the phone to me is shocking and the more i read the worse they are for settings for wap and gprs 😞

No problems with gprs with o2 here. I have pay as you go and works fine, mms, opera, wap, and even email. When you get the settings from the o2 web site are wrong, wrong access point. Here are the correct settings for pay as you go:

access point should be payandgo.o2.co.uk, username = payandgo, pass = password, then go to advanced settings and put on proxy server settings = 193.113.200.195 and port = 80 or 8080 (both work fine)

Then if you wish sign up on the o2 site and register your phone so you get pop3 email access over gprs. the settings will be smtp.o2.co.uk for outgoing mail and mail.o2.co.uk for incoming.

cool thanks for the info , im a bit of an outlook express person simple enough to send and receive do u know of any software that will let u use your existing pop3 mail e.g. im in the uk and use blueyonder
also something that lets u browse the subjects without downloading the full message would be good so i can delete all the effing spam

Well the phone does not download all messages unless you press get all ot get new. The best way to do this is to click on connect. That way the phone will only show you the headers so you can download only the messages you. If you want to connect to another server other than o2 you will have to create a data dial in isp account like freeserve so you can collect your messages via dial up (not gprs) email over gprs will only work with o2's pop3 account

i would rather do it over dial up as i dont think it would take too long to download just the headers with a suitable program and delete any which i dont want as most of my email now is spam so it would be nice to delete it couple of times a day before i get home 😊

You can do all that with the included software- plus you CAN still use GPRS to collect e-mail, just sending is restricted - so you configure your phone to receive from blueyounder and to send throu O2's smtp server - as long as you set your reply address as you blue younder no one will be any the wiser.

Best

I have a btinternet email account, the wap2 mail that they provide is brilliant, you can see all the headers and download what you want, much faster than normal e-mail.

Loaded that free app e-book reader thingy that comes with a basic mp3player, seems to work fine, actually sounds quite good.
