i wonder if anyone can help me , i recently bought a second hand laptop (toshiba tecra 8000 ) i loaded in my tesco disc and added my details and everything works ok but when i click on a link in a web page that opens up a new window the new window is blank (it has all the normal tools like search favorites etc . )just white with no address in the address bar .if i copy shortcut from the original link and paste it in the new blank window everything works fine .also i cant click on a link in outlook express , my cursor changes when i move over it but clicking on it makes no difference all i can do is copy shortcut and paste in new winndow.Hope someone can help me , ive put my laptop next to my pc an went through all the internet settings and they are the same so am i missing something or does the prob exsist somewhere else .

it is just what happened to me once. but the bad thing is i still don't know why it was happened, but when i installed a newer version of IE the problem was gone. i think that this problem is not about the settings, it is a fault of IE. but if it is not i really don't know how it is solved by changing settings. or it can be a third party app. did you installed any other application from internet after re-installation of the OS? because some applications contain some other harmful applications, and these can do that too.

it works fine know went on cnet and downloaded ie update and alls well now .
i suggest you to try other browsers instead of IE... and i strongly suggest you to try Opera. It has lots of very useful and very handy features and very much better than IE.
