I'm trying to set up my p800 to synch up with Lotus organizer 6, but each time I select the file and hit OK, I get prompted for a password for lotus organizer. The only problem is that I don't use a password for organizer. So I tried adding one in my organizer file, then entering that at the prompt in the pc suite. That didn't help at all. Pc suite was still asking me for a password.
Has anyone run into this before?
I tried calling Sony Ericsson, and they said I had to call lotus to get their permission to use organizer without a password. What!?!
Any suggestions?
Further development:
I just installed the pc suite on my computer at work, and had no difficulties setting it up, synch'ing happily. But I still can't get the home machine to bypass the password.
My first guess is that I've got to add a password to log onto my machine at work, but not at home. I'll try forcing a log-on password at home and see if that makes a difference.
In the meantime, does anybody have anything to say to this? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Anything else?
Thanks,
Jim

Sorry, absolutely no idea. I use organiser 6 at home without a password and synching works fine. In fact, there are two profiles set up on the machine at home and I can synch with either.
At work I've used both organiser 5 without a password and Notes 5 with a password, both worked perfectly.
Bassey,
Thank you for replying.
Do you log on to your machine at all? In other words, when you boot up, do you need to enter a username and password, or do you go straight to the desktop?
At work, I do, but at home, I disabled the log-on. I was going to try changing this this at home last night, but didn't have the time.

Yes. I have two user accounts set up within windows (ME) so I do have to log on.
That's what I'm wondering about. Maybe if you don't need to log onto the machine, that causes some kind of glitch where the pcsuite is looking for a password.
Thanks. I'll make sure to try it tonight.
have tried PC Sync on:
Windows ME (no Password)
Windows 2000 (with password)
Windows XP (with password)
and they are all working fine with no problems...
I have windows xp at home without a password, and at work with a password, so I tried creating separate accounts on my home machine, forcing me to log on with a password, but that didn't fix anything.
As suggested by Sony Ericsson, I called Lotus, and they said it's not a problem with their software. If there's no password, then there's no password needed. So I conference called Lotus and Sony Ericsson, and Lotus informed SE of the above. Now SE is supposedly escalating the issue to a data technician, and I can expect a call back with a solution. I'm sure.
I've been trying to think of other differences between my home machine and work. Maybe that'll help point something out. One difference is that at work, my hard drive is not partitioned, so all programs and OS info are on the c drive together. At home, I have c and d drives. C has the OS and d has everything else. Maybe the pcsuite and/or lotus needs to be installed on the same drive as the OS to access permissions/passwords?
If anybody has any input on this I'd sure like to hear it.
so last night I tried uninstalling organizer from the d drive and installing it on c, no luck. did the same with the pcsuite, again no luck.
I'm stumped.
Does anyone know of possible software conflicts for the pcsuite?
