Nic,
Make a new Access Point on the phone [ under Setup/Connection/Access Points] and set:
Connection name: home-bluetooth (?)
data bearer: GPRS
Access point name: None (default)
User name: None (default)
Password: (leave unset)
Authentication: Normal (default)
Gateway IP: 0.0.0.0 (default)
Essentially this is a blank Access Point connection record.
When another device makes a successful bluetooth connection, you should be able to open a serial port connection to the SX1 from the PC. (At ths poin the bluetooth icon at the top of the staus bar changes to have a hyphen next to it, to indicate a valid active connection).
then when you go into Opera or Mail app, select the access point of [home-bluetooth] (or whatever you called your connection above) and it should zap straight thru from your PC broadband connection.
unfortunately, i have not yet been able to activate the connection
between paired PC and SX1 from the phone end (always from the PC) which is a bit of a pain. hopefully, that is something siemens can look to fix future firmware updates.
Problem:
this can depend on the Bluetooth adapter you are trying to connect to. make sure it is one that is Bluetooth v1.1 compliant with the new profiles defined. (SX1 uses the latest bluetooth profiles like HFP).
i use a TDK Go Blue USB+ adapater connected to my home PC to give me internet access on my SX1 in my flat.
Excellent range throughout the flat (thru walls etc.) that was the reason i went for the TDK USB+ (range up to 250m it claims) but certainly works up to 20m.
ps. for those after a headset for the Siemens SX1, make sure to find a newer one that is compliant with the new HFP handsfree profile.
I have the Logitech headset and that works really well, with both SX1 and the PC through the TDK adaptor.
cheers
david
Not quite what I meant...I want to use GPRS and Pocket PC to access the net through my SX1...
