It is the program used by PC Suite to connect to your phone, either via cable, Infra Red or Bluetooth. Without it, PC Suite will not function.
Although some people on here would contest that PC Suite doesn't even work with it !! LOL 😃
Rob.
where can i download it from??
It is installed when you install PC Suite.
Either use the CD that came with your phone or go to www.nokia.com and find ur phone, then download PC Suite from there.
This is only advisable if you have a DSL or better connection.

I dont have mrouter with pc suite :S
how do you get pc suite to work without mrouter??
Im one of the people that would say pc suite doesnt work properly with mrouter either.
Heaps of times you untick a port and then when you try to re tick it it says, port unavailable it may be in use by another app. Ahhh.... i had many an hour toiling and screaming at that stupid message 😡 :icon13:

If you install the current pc suite from nokia (and the sdk, optional) you definately get mrouter installed (look in the system tray for something that looks unconnected).
Forget the connection wizard (the thing that looks like a phone)
To connect (once you've paired and set up all your other bluetooth stuff)
click the mrouter from the tray and start selecting ports (mine is 5). Eventually you'll get it to connect to your phone and you'll know which port to use. To disconnect you just launch mrouter and unclick. Your phone can/may make two (2) connections to your machine (this is fine). One will be an autoconnect rcomm that goes *ding* connected to bluetooth all devices and applications must use comm (insert number) port to connect. Think of that as rubbish or an outgoing port.
For instance, my phone connects to my pc bluetooth on com 7 (sometimes it id's as 0) you can play w/ the properties all you want.
That doesn't matter. To get pcsuite/mrouter to work I just launch it and click the tab for port 5 and it connects and shows the phone to pc connected icon.
The port unavailable (if you don't have a lot of things set up or a crazy firewall or something weird besides the fact that you're running windows to begin with) is almost always the other port connection of your phone to the pc. If you select all the boxes and unselect the port unavailable one then you should know which one is correct by elimination, but you may have so rare problem where the default autoconnect serial port in my bluetooth places is autoconnecting over the port that your phone is trying to mrouter over. You can always go to your bluetooth places and delete the connection since you can recreate it. You can do the same w/ the wireless modem one (since windows will fallback to that and annoy you if you don't).
Don't contest it, just listen to our esteemed colleague from "A FINE CITY". P-oOr fella hope his nok works in the crypt.
hehe, yeh ive tried that, m router just doesnt seems to pick up the phone unless i run XTND bluetooth connection manager first. Then 50% of the time mrouter allows port to be opened and the other 50% it displays that message. When i get home tonight im going to try different drivers and i wont install that XTND thing

Problem is that for most bt devices the dongle itself appears as a device instead of the computer so if you switch the dongle you end up having to reset everything (and that might be something you're running into...just defective stuff). The software should work. Let us know what happened.
And.....humor for the day.. my wonderful tech support sent me a new battery because I didn't want a new IMEI. I open the box and have a new phone w/ no battery..go T-MO USA😉
RIP Ray Charles
lol keep the new phone and tell em to send you a battery like you asked =)
Im reading through a bluetooth guide at the moment, might be able to figure out my problem.
Ill post if it fixes the problem
Well that guide was a god send , my dongle now works perfectly , i can both transfer files to the phone and receive them on the PC. I found a guide to setting up bluetooth for most phones. It was awesome. I think its got some warez stuff though so i cant post the link.
Ghostdog (or another admin) can i PM you the link so you can check out wether the site is suitable to be posted. Because it has the answers to many of the common bluetooth questions posted here on this forum.
FINALLY my wireless connectivity from phone to PC works properly. Thanks for all your help guys. I installed the widcomm 1.4 drivers and now have a my bluetooth places folder. Set up the com port, mrouter detected it and it all works fine. It was hard work but worth it.
could someone give me a link to a good widcomm drivers that WORK? I'm tired of it...istalled 1.4.3 driver and my mrouter just refuses to see the phone on any com port...
