annoying voicemail notification - how to disable?

Is there a hack to remove the annoying pop-up notifications that say "you have 1 missed call" and "you have voicemail" and you have 2 messages". I HATE getting these stupid notifications and there is no way in the user interface to shut them off. Is there a hack?

Don't think there is a way to disable these pop-up's...

Question for you though: When you get a Voicemail, do you get a small icon in the upper right corner of the screen that looks like a tape recorder, and do you also get a message in a pop-up at the bottom of the screen that says: "You have Voicemail" ???

I only get the recorder icon, & not the "You have Voicemail" text. I thought I did get this text when I first got my TMobile service.
