Hi,
as I currently now the 6600 can work with midi and with wav files for using as ringtones.
When I transfer a mid file to the phone the quality is very good, when transfering wav files the quality is not so good.
I know midi files work with instrumenst, but are there tools on Mac or PC which can automatically convert wav files to midi files ?
When this is not possible and I have to transfer the wav file to the phone, which wav format does the 6600 understand, I mean how many kHz with how many bits 16 or 8 and mono or stereo can the sound file have.
Thanks in advance
wav => 'PCM unsigned 8 bit mono' works fine on 6600
hi.
has anybody seen the creative portable speakers? i have them, and they are amazingly powerful and clear sound for there size.
i reckon nokia should somehow build one of these titanium driven speakers into the phone.
it prob would not help battery, but 2 cones on creatives thing last 33 hours with 4aaa batteries.
or at least a better speaker than what it has now, i mean the miniture ones in my laptop or even hand held tvs are better quality with non-midi sounds.
yes it plays them low qual wav files without distorting them, but only because the wav file is already so destorted teh phone dont need to make it any worse than what it already is!
still a gr8 phone though
Well,no use of making the wav stereo.Since the 6600 has only mono output,it will only mean larger file size. Most of my ringtones are 44Khz ,16 bit(sometimes 8 bit i i'm trying to save some space),mono and they sound awesome.
Hi Ghost Dog,
I tried it with 44kHz with 8 and 16 bits. When I use 16 bits I can hear nothing from the phone. I attached the same file with 8 and 16 bits perhaps you can try on your phone. Perhaps you'll have a 44kHz 16 bit one for me to try.
Which programm do you use to produce your files.
Thanks

I use SoundForge and i will try the ringtone on a 7650 because at moment i don't have a 6600,Sorry.
Both ringtones work fine on a 7650,maybe someone else with a 6600 can try them?
448.wav plays OK on my 6600 but 4416.wav doesn't (seems to be only 2 secs and I don't hear anything in that time, but maybe the problem is in my ears). 😊
