Dudes ive just got the lovely 6600 but i cant listen mp3 and i cant connect the phone to my computer what the f*, can somebody please help me i allready read the forums 😞
How am i suppose to listen mp3?
If you've read all the forums, then you know the answers, because they're there.
If for some strange, unfathomable reason or another, you have somehow managed to miss the relevant parts, the answer to your first question is: You need an MP3 player like UltraMP3 or MP3Go.
And in case you also happened to miss the part about connecting the phone to a PC, then the hint is: You need an infrared (IrDA) or Bluetooth adapter for your PC, and then install PC Suite.
Now, if you read all the forums a second time (or just search for relevant posts based on the hints above), I'm sure you'll be all right.
PS.
mp3's sound crap.
Ripp your CD's as .wavs join 'em all together and encode as realaudio .rm and play them in realone - they sound great.
Best

I'll have to disagree, using ultra mp3 and a normal 128kb mp3 is about as good as you'll get from the crappy speaker and audio hardware, also saves a lot of tedious rencoding AND Ultra MP3 has random play, playlists etc.
Been looking for freeware to rencode my mp3's into mono so can fit twice as many on card
Any ideas?
Random play and playlists are great I agree.
but all the MP3s I have listened too don't sound as good as .rm - they are always distorted.
I'd love to be convinced otherwise, believe me.
UltraMP3 is the best program I've tried so far for clarity, unfortunatly UltraMp3 does not work on bluetooth headsets 😞
Hopefully Sendo-x's MP3 playback is better!

try this freeware: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
Happy converting
😉
Cheers mate ,cool program.
Just one problem, an mp3 converted to mono is still the same size....hmmmmmmm.
I must have it all wrong.
WELL FU@K ME!!
I thought i'd tested as much as could be tested getting decent quality MP3's.
Most rippers will only rip from about 56 kbps at 22/44 hz and above.
This program lets you ripp LOWER than that - in fact it has a 'preset' for ripping for phones and it ripps at 17kbps 8hz
The files are tiny and sound GREAT!!
NO distortion like you get with regular MP3's - even at full volume thru my bluetooth headset!!
I stand corrected - MP3's CAN be great!!
Cheers 😊
Will, what program do you use to listen to MP3's through your BT headset?
MP3GO is the only one I've found that works over Bluetooth.
The latest RealOne plays MP3 and over bluetooth, but has no playlist option.
The only trouble with MP3GO is the price..
UltraMP3 will be perfect when they get it working with bluetooth

If your talking about the dBpowerAMP, it's really great.
I'm not sure what Job did, but there's an advanced option were you can ripp to whatever type of file and size you prefer.
Glad to be of help in changing your prejudices against MP3.
Yes the quality is very good ,even at low bitrates, that has to be the best 64kb encoding I have ever heard.
The problem is that I convert a stereo mp3 to mono at it's original bit rate and the new file is the same size, surely it should be nearly half.
If I encode it in stereo the file is the same size as the mono, no point in mono then?
Thats because the bitrate is the same - it's the bitrate that denotes the file size - so in theory you can lower the bitrate by half and encode in mono and still achive simalar sound quality, but you will end up with half the file size..
I assume thats what you want to achive 😊
16kbps at 8khz in mono produces on average 300k files that sound perfik on the phone with none of the high frequency distortions.
😊
