eBooks are one of the unsung applications for Smartphones - here's the All About Symbian / N-Gage Guide to eBooks, showing you what eBooks are, what applications you can use to read them, and (more importantly) where to get them.

An Ebookreader with MP3 support how stupid is that!?! :s
I hope he has a version without the MP3 function somewhere to download 😊

The MP3 is a plug in module, the author emailed me today. The reader on it's own is the same rough size as the others. Also Ebooks at 32bit/sec rate on MP3 are pretty file efficient.

I can't believe no mention was made of Mobipocket. The reader for Pocket PC is superb, I use it almost exclusively, and I assume the one for either UIQ or the Nokia Communicator is as slick and professional.

Spot on. Mobipocket is by far the best ebookreader IMO. I've tried them all, the ones for UIQ that is. The Mobipocket Reader has some excellent features like dictionary integration. The dictionary has to be purchased separately, but still. Say I'm reading a book, hmm I wonder what that word means, I tap on the word with the stylus and whoops there it is, an instant explanation. 😊 Not to mention getting updated news every time I put the phone in the cradle, with the Mobipocket Web Companion. The reader will also automatically shut itself down when it's not being actively used, saving that precious RAM for other stuff. There is actually no other application I have encountered that have that feature. You can change font, text colours, background colour, auto scrolling, and have it rotated to landscape mode. You can also get some very decent encyclopaedia's and dictionaries and all kinds of reference literature for it. The .prc format used by Mobipocket also allows for pictures to be displayed, which is nice if you want cartoon strips on your phone, and it's of course very useful for reference literature. Basically, IMO, no other ebookreader is as well integrated into the system and as useful as the one from Mobipocket, so it is a shame it wasn't mentioned. Shame on you Ewan! 😛

The only downsides are, as far as the UIQ version is concerned, there is no setting to keep the light ON at all times, there is no full screen mode, you can't synchronize enews OTA, and it's a bit slow.

Oh, btw, the Mobipocket Reader IS free. 😊 You only have to pay if you choose to upgrade to the Pro version.

Nice!I didn't know that.Checked out mobipocket's homepage and i saw a download trial button so i assumed its buyware.
