Hi,
Kind of a newbie here, but thought i'd ask anyway.
Is there anyway of getting a replacment cover for the 6600? I would like to change the colour of my current 6600 (light grey) to Rose and I was wondering where i could get the front, keymat, battery covers and camera slidings from?
I have found a place in germany that sells 3 of the 4, but if there's a place that will sell all 4, i'll take it (of course for the right price).
There are also some places in various countries that apparently sell all 4 components for X amount of dollars, however they are not available online and therefore cannot be purchased by me 😞
I obviously would have purchased the rose colour had it been available here in australia, but since it is not available, i really had no choice.
Links would be greatly appreciated
Hey fella
Can you tell me the URL of where I can get a replacement housing from? You mentioned Germany.....
I have scratched the screen on mine and tried polishing the scratches out and it looks worse! Am looking to get a brand new housing....
I'd be wary of this as I wasn't aware the 6600 was able to have it's fascia/housing swapped.
And is it just me or did some of those pix on that Ebay site look "Photoshoped" ?
Either way, I'd be careful as I don't think Nokia designed the 6600 to have removeable covers.
Rob.
I know what you mean...but having said that, I 've successfully swapped the covers from my old 7650 over after I scratched the screen (I'm very good at scratching my phones!). That was a bugger but do-able!

Yeah you can, actually its pretty easy to do on a 6600 (i've done it myself), the front housing just "pops" out
The 6600 is indeed Xpress on cover. You can even remove the silver round surrounding the Camera, to take that off you just need to rotate it clockwise, the clip will be taken off automatically. For the front housing, its best to start taking it off at the bottom. Start on the edges and slowly snap the sides. The snaps of the 6600 though is very tight compared to other phone units.

Those are not original housing right? Anyway to get ORIGINAL one? Thanks.
No. Not Nokia housings. But quite cheap though. 😃

No, the 6600 IS NOT an XPress on cover. It is not listed by Nokia as a phone with replaceable covers. Check Nokia.com and you will see that the 6600 is not listed as a phone with XPRESS ON Covers.
It is not designed for this. I'm not saying that you can't remove the casing, but it is not designed to be removed by the user, therefore, if you break it, you are on your own.
So I would strongly advise that you don't remove the cover and if you do, you do so at your own risk.
Rob.
that goes without saying....
