well, i want 2 ask a couple of Qs, hope i get their Anss, well the 6600 is a series 60 v2.0 platform, and the N-Gage is a 1.x, is there a way 2 upgrade it into 2.0? if not, is there a way 2 make the themes of the 6600 compatable with the n-gage as in the theme studio? i thought about getting these 2 sis files (Series60SkinsSupport.SIS and Series60v2.0.sis) but i cant find thm, pls experts tell me is it gona work if i did tht???? and where can i get the files either it works or not, thanx...

I am by far no expert but upgrading the n-gage symbian from 1.X to 2 is unheard of. As far as the skins you cant use 6600 skins as far as i know, the only other solution is slauncher. If you havent tried s-launcher try it its quite good a bit battery hungry and slows down your phone but it does achive a hich level of customisation.
when you say slauncher slows down the phone do u mean movies,mp3s,etc? does it make it run all jibby and skip?or jus takes a little longer to open application and files?
I havent noticed any problems when playing movies and mp3s just opening applications and such. It also seriously eats batteries. Its no big deal if you are able to charge up your phone during regular intervals but if you are hopping to make a long journey over 12 hours its best you turn slauncher off. Other than that its pretty cool.

Are you sure that Slauncher eats up battery? I've been using Slauncher on my 7650 and i don't notice the difference........😕 Pls. explain in detail if possible.
Well,not that much,but it does have some effect on the battery life.

Not that much??In my N-gage the time of using with S launcher on was about 50% of normal time,with the same way of using...for me it is THAT MUCH😡
Its based really how often i operate the phone but some times slauncher seems to cruise through battery bar levels. Even with slauncher you get a good days use out of the phone.
I believe early versions of sLauncher did use a great deal of battery life but this was fixed in later versions.
Alternatively, if you wish to just change icons, an application to do that will be out shortly.
Also a way of creating 'mini themes' for symb. 6.1 is in the works.

Getting back to the question :P, i believe the main reason u cant use the themes for the 6600 is due to the difference in resolution, 65,000 and 4,096. Maybe im wrong but it makes sense that it wudnt.
But then couldn't the user just make a theme using a 4096 colour palette? 😛
