Restoring PCSuite Backups

Hiya ,

Im Having a few issues (allready made 3 phones Usless and had to await replacements)

Basicly, i have back up my 7650 since day one, and just recently had a replacemnet and now my phone is recognised as a diff phone (would be due to IEMI number)

Simple i thought lets just rename the old .cap file to new .cap file

All going well old backup restore

Restarted phone, phone keep on reseting it self , so got a replacement sent out again (easy done when under contract)

Now i know its something to do with data that was BACKUPED for old phone

The question (finaly), i would like to restore all my picture messages , sms messages that was backedup and now stored in some mad dat files back to either phone to pc (txt/ota)

Ive ran though the filestore.dat.txt, and found all relievnt files coped out and renamed , but as yet been unable to decode or find any tools to decode,

So now im onto plan F, trying to get PC Suite to only restore the SMS & pictures,

Ive looked at the backupexculsionlist.dat, now does this also include restoring

Can i edit that to restore only the required Bits , or any other part of pcsuite to only restore SMS txt and SMS pictures?

Try this:

1) Back up the new phone.
2) Replace the new phone's backup (all files) by the old phone's backup (or just copy the whole old backup directory/folder tree over the new backup directory tree).
3) Restore.

Tried this and this cause the phone to go skits (see message above did explain that) , ie just sit there constantly rebooting

Error is due to some SYSTEM specific files been backed up , and then being restored which on diff bios versions is bad 😞

Anyone have anyideas on how to only restore SMS txt & SMS pictures (OTA/OTB), that have allready been backup with pcsuite ?
