Hi mates,

i've seen some topics about mmc cards but they are nor all clear.my question is if i buy a 256 mb mmc (sandisk), will it work with my n gage or not? in user guide (if i am not wrong) there was a note about n-gage support 128 mb max.

if anyone who uses 128 or higer posts here , it will be very usefull for me and people who has problem like me 😊

cheers anyway.

I guess you can't be 100 percent sure until you test it yourself... but my guess is that Sandisk works because the Nokia's 'own' cards are made by Sandisk.

It all comes down to what you need ant want. Personally I got 128mb and its fine but when the price of the 256 comes down a little more i will be going for that. Beyond that is just being greedy😛 but if i can get it why not!

Hey guys, perhaps it would be a good idea to compile a list of manufacturers and sizes of MMCs that have been tested and work with the ngage seeing as a lot of these questions are popping up.
Anyway, for those interested the 256MMC made by PQI works in my ngage

The MMC standard is only up to 128 MB, so the official docs for any device will only say they support up to 128 MB...

The MMC standard allows 32 bit addressing or up 4GB. Biggest MMC cards announced are 1GB (from at least Tegic, Pretec and PDC).

256 MB cards work great on n-gage. 512 MB is out these days, which are really costly to purchase. I have read a document in the web indicating that the n-gage supports MMC cards upto 1 GB.

yeah the mmc with big hard space are good like 512 or 1gb but the price...you can buy another n-gage of 1gb price so...
