Got a bluetooth dongle with a Nokia 6600. It connects ok with the phone, ie the icon in the taskbar shows green and blue when the phone is connected via bluetooth. However, when you open the PC Filemanager program it says 'Device not connected' ! ?
Whats up with it?
I have Windows 2k & Nokia suite installed (which also doesn't detect it). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything to no avail. I have all Windows updates installed too.
Please help!!
😕
What BT dongle are you using?
Did you connect your phone to your PC using the Bluetooth Serial Port?
Mine works fine... with the PC Suite... haven't tried using the PC filemanager though...
Hi - thanks for your reply - i'm using the X-micro bluetooth dongle - i can send files etc to the phone, but for some reason neither software will detect it in the program.
Although the taskbar connection manager detects it and links up ok (this is even part of nokia suite! which is even stranger!!), the suite 'program' wont!
I connected by clicking on the bluetooth icon and going to bluetooth serial port->Nokia 6600. It all appears to connect ok.
Very strange - its baffled me - maybe something to do with Windows 2k ?
The same problem here, with infrared and BT.
mRouter shows the phone as connected (yellow/green icon flashes on the system tray), and I can send files from PC to phone through Windows explorer.
The problem is that Nokia PC Suite, or PC File Manager says "phone disconnected". I think it a mass problem, everybody I know with a 6600 have the same problem.
Only Oxygen Phone Manager 2.03 connects succesfully with the phone.
Hi,
I had this prob with Belkin Bt adapter,
What i did was created a new com port with mrouter and unchecked the old one/checked the new one and it was fine then!
Bit of a stab in the dark for other people maybe, but worth a try!
just to let u guys know he fixed it
seems it was a win 2000 issue
Although I tried everything, I cannot connect PC Suite with my 6600.
mRouter says "Phone connected", PC Suite says "Phone disconnected"
The same with infrared and Bluetooth. I tried from my computer, installed, uninstalled, re-installed, re-uninstalled, re-re-installed, re-re-uninstalled. I tried all the available settings on mRouter and Nokia Connection Monitor. I changed infrared and BT adapter. I changed PC, I formated my hard disk and reinstalled everything... nothing happens. This crap thing which Nokia calls "PC Suite for 6600" always says "Disconnected".
The same problem with all people I know with Nokia 6600.
My IR and BT adapters work fine, I had never problems with other infrared or BT connections with past mobile phones I owned.
I gave up, I will not try anymore. I use Oxygen Phone Manager and everything is OK, it works fine. It is a shame of Nokia, I don't know they are going sometime to fix their useless software for 6600, but it is already too late... 😡
