Im considering replacing my Nokia 6610 with a newer phone, but I have some questions first I hope you can answer for me 😃
They are mainly on the Nokia 6600 phone which is the one I have in mind currently!
1: I see some places mentioning playback of MP3's in mono... is it in no way possible to achieve stereo playback (in headset/earplugs) from the 6600?
2: Saw someone mentioning 128MB max in add-in card - is that true or can I use the 256MB SD card I had in mind?
3: What kind of headsets do you guys use for listening to MP3's? - is there anything based on bluetooth that will not only "support one ear" or will I have to use normal earplugs? 😉
What I'm expecting from the phone is being able to browse the web (xHTML browser I guess), check emails, being able to use it as a MP3 player and of course being able to use it as a phone 😊
If anyone have any other suggestions on what phones might fit me better .. you're very welcome to suggest one 😊
I've never had anything but Nokia's and I would prefer sticking to them... but if I see the "perfect cell phone" I might switch brand :P

2.Only few brands of 256MB and 512 MB MMC's work with the 6600.Search the forum.The 6600 doesn't support SD cards,only MMC.

Opera is a great browser,the built-in e-mail client is OK but there are better third party Options.I'm afraid it won't be any good as an mp3 player.
Perfect phone? ROFL,but you can check out the Sendo X or the Siemens SX1,there might be even a 6600i poping up soon or if you are not asking for S60 specific device,try the Sony Ericsson p900,all better options IMO.

Its kinda weird about the SD card thing tho.. I went to check out the phone in a cell phone store and they told me that the difference between slot for memory on the n-gage and the 6600 was the fact that the 6600 had a wider opening that could fit a SD card ... Guess the guy didnt know what he was talking about!
I'm prolly gonna be waiting and see what pops out from Nokia next 😉 .. I don't really like the SX1 or the Sendo X .. and the N-Gage (which kinda has what I need as I can do without camera) is a bit too big IMO...

Hrrm.. any chance you could post a picture or know where I could find a picture showing the size of N-Gage.. like.. someone holding the phone :P ?
It seems to me that the N-Gage is very big and must feel awkward to talk into it with the location of speaker/mic. ..
Guess I'm gonna go try one next time I get to a phone store...

Ahhh...no way! SD Cards don't work? I'm upgrading from an SPV E100 to the 6600 and I've got a 128MB SD Card with my SPV which I was hoping to use with my 6600...is it definately not possible? My SD Card is from Integral.
