ICQ sound

Hi there,
I wonder if somebody managed to use the ICQ 'ohhhohhh' WAV file to the 6600?

I tried several things but it keeps being cut off after the first 'ohhh'.

Any1 out there or any ideas?

Harry

I think that ICQ uses that same .wav file is just that it loops it! Use some editing tool and make an already looped wav and uploaded to the phone. Note that this only makes sense if you want to use the sound as "message recieved" otherwise the sound loops if set as "ring tone".

What do you mean by loop it?

When I play the wav file with xmms it plays nicely one 'ohhhohhh' but the phone cuts off the end of the file.

No loops or anything are inside the wav I think. 😞

Loop it means extending the length of the sound file by copying the "ohhh" file into itself, thereby lengthening it. So instead of just "ohhh" playing as your ringtone, you get "ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh".

(Looks a bit rude that though 😉

Try Total Recorder or another audio app to do it.

Hi there,
I finally got it. I had to add a silence before the file.
It did not work at the end of it though.

Now it plays nicely. 😊

For anybody who's interested in it, its attached to this posting.

Have fun,
Harry

./.......wat do u mean u added silence before the file...how did u do it..... n is the attachment .wav file with the silence before the file.....cant download it now....cuz at the skools lab but will download it at home n try it!......
thanx !

I used a WAV editor and added 'nothing' at the beginning, which means just some seconds of playing no sound. 😊
