6600 back on Orange UK

Apparently the Call Divert etc. problems with the Nokia 6600 on Orange UK have been fixed and they are now sending them out to customers.

Waiting for the courier now...

I got my 6600 on Orange on Monday 26th, registered it ... then waited till about 9pm Wednesday 28th for my sim update!

alll services seem to be working correctly so far and i am enjoying my new phone (except for some weird probs i have had transefring contacts from my 7650!)

liza

Customer services told me this morning that the fixed 6600s are initially going out for corporate customers & individual retentions, so upgrades & new contracts have to wait.

Sorry if I jumped the gun and got anyone's hopes up

Did they give any notification of when new contract users would be getting them?

😊

This is complete bollox.😛

There are NO "Fixed 6600's" because there are no broken ones 😃 😃

I got an Orange 6600 which came with the call barring/divert menus "disabled/missing". After doing a hardware reset on the phone these menus are available. No other negative side affects (I did this a couple of weeks ago)

As ingo said, backup your phone with the pc suite. Format, then restore again and surprisingly the call waiting, call divert and yes the network select options all become available.. Its a strange one indeed, i wonder what Orange did to mess it up in the first place.

"Fixed" as in work fully on Orange UK.
"Broken" as in don't work fully on Orange UK.

Anyone actually received there 6600 from orange since the fix? Or been given a delivery date?😕

I called them today and they are still out of stock.

Q. Do you know how one can get the Orange 6600 unlocked?

How many more times do I have to tell you ?

There is no fix, because nothings broken !

Orange have stock, but it is for upgrades and retentions only.

Is that clear enough ?

Well there is a fix hence why Orange said "The 6600's failed there software tests so the technical department are looking into it" So there obviously was a problem, is that clear enough?😃

I have had my 6600 for 2 weeks from Orange direct, and the software was perfectly good then, and it still is now 😃 😃

Had my new 6600 delivered yesterday.... Orange upgrade (free!).

Activated it, Switched on, "App Closed ecomserver" error message.

Pressed OK, seemed to carry on fine...

Got a new voicemail (spool symbol on), Listened to the message, spool symbol still on....

Tried to change the ring tone: "App Closed ecomserver"

The phone is goosed ;-(

Orange have now (Eventually, after much arguement and attempting to make contact with the "not customer facing" technical support team) said they will send a replacement - when it is back in stock - ARGHHH!!!

There will always be a genuine faulty phone sold to somebody out there..

Four people I know have a 6600 on Orange, and are perfectly happy with it. 😃 😃

Totally agree. I'm not too bothered (i'm getting a months free line rental for the trouble). I'm looking forward to getting another one that works fully - i've just upgraded from the 7650.

I have to say that it's the first faulty mobile i've had from orange in about 5 years, thats about 10 handsets (All nokia) - i guess my turn had to come 😉
