I am having difficulty connecting my P900 with my PC. The first week I tried connecting it, I didnt have any hard time. But a couple of days ago, the P900 wouldn't connect. How come?
I am using mu USB port. All the computer says that it is "Connecting". I left it for hours but it still says it is "connecting". Have anyone experienced this problem too?
I also tried reinstalling the PC Suite but with no luck. Help!
Help w/ PC Suite
Try this:
When its says connecting and doesnt connect at all, open the phone connection link, unchecked the USB port your are connected to, then remove your phone from the cradle, thencheck the USB again and then plug the phone back, jsut do this a couple of times.. That should get it to work.
When you reinstall, make sure to install the software first the when it asks you to plug in the cradle, do so.
Do no plug the cradle first then install the program. If you already did this, use another USB port, you will never be able to get it to work on that same one, its a windows thing.
I still cant get it. I still cant get this damn phone to connect? What's wrong? I tried connecting it to a different PC and still a failure.
Can't understand it. Help! Is it a firmware issue?

I've connected my P900 to three different machines, three different WIN OS's using the cradle and bluetooth without problems (though the P800 was a different story).
What operating system are you using? I've found Win XP is much more forgiving when you try to do things out of order. If you are using ME or 98SE and have plugged the cradle in before installing the software OR installed the software, plugged in the cradle but then didn't point it to the drivers for the cradle correctly then you will have a nightmare of a job fixing it.
Also, with USB it's worth chaning the USB socket you are plugging it into. Are you using a USB hub or front mounted ports instead of plugging it in directly?
All of these things CAN cause problems but, in my experience, if you follow the installation instructions to the letter then it works. However, do things out of order first time and you will create chaos, no matter how many times you re-do it!
I just got my P900 yesterday and had the same problem. I called SE tech support hey told me to uninstall the PC sync software. Disable my AntiVirus and Firewall software and reinstall the PC software. By the way they also told me that Outlook 2003 is not support yet. However, I was able to get it working. The other thing I did was update the phones firmware version to the latest released version on SE website. Try these steps if that does not work then call SE tech support.
I hope this helps!
Thanks to all. I will try all your suggestions. I hope it will work. Im keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks and regards to all.
1. Unplug the power cable from the DSS20
When you do the sync the power cable can send confusing signals. I found that once I got everything going again, I could plug the power cable back in and everything would sync.
2. Turn the phone off, set in cradle, then turn phone on.
Seems to kick start the connection process.
