Hi guys, apologise if this has been asked already, but I couldn't find it if it has...
... is anyone else having problems with a Kingmax or 256mb MMC on their 6600? I've heard reports of it working fine but I keep getting "Cannot complete write to disk." messages, and the Blizzard installer dies in the middle of unpacking anything (presumably for the same reason).
My phone's running FW 3.49.1 and I've tried formatting it from the phone several times, and on my digital camera with no luck. Help!
If it's definitely _supposed_ to work then I can send it back and get another, but hopefully there's something I can do to get it working reliably... format it from a PC with a card reader? Anyone needed to do that?
Thanks.
There will be no help with warez in this forum, especialy blizzard!
I apologise, I was merely using it as an example of how programs that write data to the memory card are failing .. does this imply that my memory card is faulty or is it something I can fix?
Sorry.
Most 256mb MMC cards work fine. Can you perform read/write operations with large files on a PC with an MMC reader, or digicam?
I suspect the MMC is faulty.
I don't have an MMC reader, although I think I'll have to find one next. Via my camera:
The type of the file system is FAT.
Volume Serial Number is 2BAA-7FF4
Windows is verifying files and folders...
File and folder verification is complete.
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems. 261,591,040 bytes total disk space.
4,096 bytes in 1 hidden files.
49,152 bytes in 12 folders.
45,850,624 bytes in 31 files.
215,687,168 bytes available on disk.
4,096 bytes in each allocation unit.
63,865 total allocation units on disk.
52,658 allocation units available on disk.
So I don't
think there's anything wrong with the card as such. Oh well, thanks anyway.
Hi,
I've got the same problem with my Kingmax 256MB. Seems to have started sporadically as soon as I exceeded 50 Mb of data on the card.
Would also appreciate pointers.

this is what i posted previously asking about, the choice between a 256 and a 128mb card and had my thread locked.
Do we think this 256mb associated problem is to do with the size of the card or the certian manufacturer?
If the 6600 is only supposed to run a 128mb card max, is this why its having problems?
I have read of others using 256mb cards and even 512mb cards some with problems, some with no problems.
Does anyone actualy know for sure the 6600s actualy compatibilty with MMCs?
I was reading (http://www.mmca.org/) that theres a set MMC specificatipon system and currently its up to version 4. C
could the cheaper cards be older cards with a lower incompatible version?
