big symbians?

so, why are the symbian smart phones so large? the MS ones appear to be smaller. is there a good reason for this?

mpx200: Weight: 113.0g / 89.0 x 48.0 x 27.0
Nokia 3650: Weight: 130g / 129.5 x 57.2 x 25.6
Nokia 6600: Weight: 122g / 108.6 x 58.2 x 23.7
Sendo X: 110 x 49 x 23

The 3650 is more then a year old,the mpx200 is a clamshell so compare it with other clamshell devices like the Samsung SGH D700:Weight:110g / 89 x 49 x 23.

BTW:I don't have a problem with the size of any Symbian device and i can't wait to see the new QWERTY keyboard equipped communicator.

thanks for the stats Ghostdog. im trying to make the move from my SL55 (v small and light) to a smartphone. so anything over 100g and 100mm is scary to me! 😞

i think the clamshell must be the way to go for a decent size smartphone. means you can have a good size screen, well spaced keys, and then not too massive when in the pocket.
