GSM WAP connection with 'Services' application doesn't work :(

Hi,

Has anyone had any problems with this? I've got WAP setup correctly on my SIM free bought 6600. I'm using a registered and comfirmed working in a 7250 O2 Online PAYG SIM. The phone will connect to the 'O2 WAP' access point, but then nothing happens.

The digital call icon on the top right of the screen is present and the letter 'D' orbits the earth, but no data is displayed the in browser window - it remains on the shortcut page.

Now, if I connect with GPRS, WAP works fine though the Services application.

Thing is, I know GSM WAP is working as third party applications I've downloaded have access to the internet.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

have u been to nokia.com?

search for settings

go through the list like what your phone is - what operator etc

then they send u a text just open it and it saves the settings

for my 6600 on vodafone

they had the settings for

wap
gprs
mms
internet access for apps

Yeah I've been. As I said, WAP is setup correctly, other applications can use WAP - It's just the 'Services' WAP browser that cannot..

It's odd.

I can used GPRS for the time being, but O2 Online give you 300 minutes of GSM WAP for free...

Might be worth asking O2 about CSD / HSCSD. I couldn't get my 6600 to connect to WAP over gsm on Orange, but a phone call to customer services and a nice explanation about CSD, and a sim update later and it connects fine... Might be worth asking about.

I'll ask my sister's mate. She works for O2's call centre in Bury. I don't think they do CSD with my tariff though - if they did, would that go on my free minutes..? If it wasn't for these free minutes, I'd naturally be using GPRS.

Odd that 'Services' and GSM connections don't like each other though, isn't? What's your firmware version?
