My review of the HDD-1 Hands-free headphones

Well, I got my Nokia HDD-1 Stereo Headphones today....

I bought them from Expansys, http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=HDD-1&asource=NOK_7650 a british site, that I beleive
delivers abroad. They were around 25 excluding VAT and P&P. They were
delivered next day as well, which was handy.

So, It's not Bluetooth, which is a shame, but wire kits are not all that
bad. It consists of a cream coloured "Clip" which contains a microphone,
Answer/End Call button and 2 hooks to hang the headphones from. It also has
the Nokia logo. The clip attaches to your clothing and the 2 earphone wires
dangle loose. The connector is the standard headphone jack, which is far
better than the "old" Nokia handsfree kits which used to be wide, plastic
connectors that broke really easily.

Bad things: The clip is quite chunky and heavy compared to other hands-free
kit. It is also quite noticeable when you are walking around with it
attached to your clothing, and the earphone hooks are quite fiddly.

Good Things: The sound quality is AWESOME. I really was astonished. Even
with 1 earphone in, the sound quality is 10 times greater than holding the
phone to your head. With two headphones in, you have the conversation is in
full stereo. The volume is booming and the clarity is exceptional. I could
here conversations in the background on the other line! I really couldn't
believe you could get audio quality like that through a mobile network, but
I suppose my viewpoint is based on holding the headset to your head.
The microphone is also great quality. I was on a noisy, crowded bus and the
microphone was clipped to my chest, yet the other line heard me perfectly
clear. In fact, they had no idea i was on hands-free.
The annoying buzzing sound is now gone, which is a bonus.

It is probably better when you are at home talking at length on the mobile,
and you aren't worried about people noticing the clip on your shirt. But I
would REALLY advise anyone who is having trouble with sound quality on their
phone to invest in one of these puppies, or anyone like me who gets a hot
head if they talk for too long!

Anyone want any extra info, just ask.

P.S. The picture shows them as green, but they aren't green. Honest.
