Reset Code Restores Factory Settings

Hello,
I've noticed that sometimes, Series 60 phones like 3650 and N-Gage do not really reset themselves when I'm inserting the *#7370# - total reset code.
It is only restoring the phone's factory settings.

In the past it used to work. What happend?

That code only formats the phone memory. It appears as if it's not successful on phones such as the 3650 and N-Gage because the data on the MMC is not erased, thus it still remains in the menu even after the *#7370# command.
