Anyone know how I can activate the Enhanced FULL RATE Speech Codec (EFR) on 6600?

What's the code?
*# something...? I cant remember it...

Nah didn't work. You right, it didn't have any effect.I entered the code and nothing happened.U know why?Maybe wrong code or cause of Symbian?Isn't there a way to activate it on a Symbian device?

There is usually no point in changing this setting.

First of all, it is on by default on every Nokia phone, and used if the network supports it.

The phone always uses the best quality codec that the network it is connected to supports.

Hmmm i think right.I read some nokia press releases and they said they always use the best speech codec (if network supports it).
Thanks a lot

The enhanced full rate is set by the Network and not by your phone.

There are 3 main types of traffic channel in use.

1) Full rate traffic channel

2) Half rate traffic channel

3) Dual rate traffic channel.

Half rate channels are only used on very busy BTS sites to increase traffic channel capacity without installing new hardware.

Dual rate traffic channels allow either full rate or half rate to be used depending on the amount of voice traffic on the BTS.

Two half rate traffic channels replace one full rate channel.
