hello again..!
i wanna buy a new phone.. should i take the 9210i or 7650??
i have the T68i now.. it's a good one.. but the 256 colors sucks! 😮
anyways, i'll be waitiong ur advise.
Regards

First question is what do you want? If you want a perfectly capable PDA with no need to carry round an extra phone then go with the 9210i. If you after a toy with colour gfx and various other flashy bits to show off to your mates then go with the 7650. Both are very different beasts designed for different tasks.

If you already have a PDA and just want some fun, then the 7650 may be what you are looking for. It's light and easy to carry around and has some very good games already released for it.

Like many other mobiles, it has a facility for you to press different numbers, then a green button and when you say "Hello" down the microphone, someone usually says "Hello" back 😃

The 9210i is a power machine. If having good, clear and uncluttered access to the full internet is important to you, then the 9210i is more than man enough for the job. Also, if you want to be writing wordprocessor documents and spreadsheets with access to FAX and e-mail facilities for receipt and transmission, this is the only real option.

Nobody can do any lengthy work of this sort on a PocketPC, it's a pain! Even the Psion 5 and 5mx is better as a mobile office than a PocketPC!

I use my 9210 for writing and retreiving procedures, notes and all sorts of other stuff, heck, I even maintained a web site from it!

It all depends on what you want old chap. 7650 for easy fun, 9210i for professional/business work.

It would seem that an interesting compromise between the two would be the SonyEricsson P800, but then, it's not got a proper keyboard. You may want to hang around for that though.

thanks for ur response.. in fact .. i'm still a student.. studying computer engineering.
i need the 9210i in the uni. for example the wordprocessor and some programs, and have a little fun... u know 😃
but i have to buy all the programs? there's isn't any free ones?

I'm a student 2, got my 9210 for almost free in a good deal.
Only thing I bought was a leather case and a bigger mmc.

It depends which programs you want.
For almost every program there is a free counterpart.

You'll surely find every thing you want without paying for it.
Games (shareware, freeware and demo)
Multimedia (9210i provides free media support)
Office support (doc, excel, powerpoint) all free and supported

If you don't want the best of the best you'll find a lot of free things out there.

I study informatics and don't use any paper I just type it all in my 9210, even my exams I prepare and study from it.

Hi, guys 😉 I have a 9210 and now I have a 7650 too. I love both devices! I recommend both! Unfortunately, you have to buy the programs, but they are cheap, man... 😊 And BTW, I wont upgrade my 9210 to 9210i, Ill wait for 9310! 😃
Regards!

hey.. u have the both.. great!
but the 7650 has a 3.6 MB memory.. it's very small for pictures, tones, messages etc...
i have an idea.. anybody has bought a program, he can send it for me by email 😃

and what abouit the battery], how many days it lasts?

and about the 9310i , i think that it's tooooo early to talk about it, right? i think they will make it in a year or more..
what do u think guys??

As Dazler says, the programs are based on the IMEI of your phone. When you buy a program, you can not use it with another phone... Moreovoer the work of developers must be respected...
I think that the 3.6MB of memory are enough to store a lot of pictures, tones, etc... But if you want to store a lof of applications, pictures, etc, then you must buy the 9210...

aha.. damn.. i think i must buy some programs with it.
but u didn't tell me, how many days the does the battery of the 9210i last? plz everyone who owns one tell me.
regards

My 9210 last about 5 days.
When heavy use (not skipping any class ;p) about 3 full days.
Of course if you play doom or rayman or whatever all day it will be about 2 days 😉

If I hardly use my phone, it can last for 5 whole days without charging. If I use The GPS, it lasts 5 hours 😮 . Generally the battery lasts long enough for a heavy days usage for me as long as I charge it over night. Very long calls and watching videos can drain it too. (waffle waffle, sorry)

(echo?) Nokia 9310 does exist. Its a Digital Satilite receiver so the number is already taken.... have a look on Google
Lol.. what do u need the GPS for guys?? it's useless i think. i loved the phone for it's keyboard only 😃
about the 9310 reciever i saw it in the site, and all here is waiting for the 9310i 😮 loool
now, if anybody afford u to change ur 9210 with a 7650, would u go for it??
Lol.. what do u need the GPS for guys?? it's useless i think.
I'm sorry you feel that way. There are people who like the 9210 because its a cool gadget. But there are others who lives have been transformed by PDAs and alike because they have problems with their memories or because they spend so much of there lives traveling that they cant get near a PC. And just as there those who have a fantastic sense of direction, there are others like myself who can get lost in their own home town.(Where was I?). Now my 9210 is worth more to me now than ever.

btw.. how much it costs in UK? it's here arround 800$ (9210i) with a 32MB card? should i go for it?

Here, meaning where? In Finland the 9210i is around 1100 = $ without subscriptions and no extras (just phone, battery, charger, serial cable and CD)!

GPS is a lovely tool, if you are making lots of long journeys to new places, or if you like to go off roading, you can plug the 9210 in your siggy lighter, pop it on the dash and have a map of the local area updating as you move so you can see where you are rather than opening a road atlas and hunting for that junction.

heeeey.. i found the 9210i for 680$ 😃 with 1 year warranty! and 64MB card for 80$
great deal, right

hey!
i'll buy the 9210i tonight.. what is the final software version availabe? and can i put .au files as a ringtone??

8)

Latest software version for the 9210i is afaik 5.33. I don't think that you can use au files as ringing tones. 😞

what abut MIDI files?
but the wav files is toooo big? :-?
if i convert the mp3 to wav it's at least 30.0MB

Use Multimedia convertor from nokia to convert wav, so then you'll get a wav half the size of mp3

You can import Midi files into an application called Ring Master (www.zenobyte.com), but I have to agree with Dazler that Nokia's own free Multimedia converter might be better.
