Backlight switch on permanently?

10 replies · 3,342 views · Started 18 February 2004

It's really distracting trying to play a chess game on the phone if the light is fading off and on all the time, i've tried selecting light on in FExplorer then loading the game without quitting FE but it doesn't seem to work on the 6600.

Any ideas?

there's an application called 'torch' that might work on the 6600.

You'll have to try a search for the link to it as I forget where it is.

will

thanks guys, FExplorer light-> ON doesn't seem to work on the 6600.

Also tried extended profiles v2.02 which doesn't work on my 6600, click on the icon and nothing

try to uninsall it and then install again.also restarting your computer and phone should help
cheers

FExplorer 1.10 light on works on my 6600. Remember, though, that you have to leave it running in the background (i.e., don't exit it to you run your game, but press the menu key to switch from FExplorer and go to your game).

Strange. It works on all my Series 60 phones and I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work on other people's phones, too.

to keep the light on:
1-enter torch program
2-press menu button
3-enter any program you want
to turn the light off:
4-finish with the particular program and exit
5-press and hold menu key
6-re-enter the torch program and exit.

finally got it working, keeping the backlight on (want it on for a chess game) wont lessen the screens life will it seeing as most screens are permanently back lit. Presume it will just drain the battery quicker
