yes you lose the lot m8 back your phone to the mem card first,dont forget to take your card out before you format.

Could you tell me if I format the phone what will be the results? I mean, I have an Orange soft installed on my 6600 with screen saver, WAP access etc... which I would like to remove. If I format will I erase all this stuff?
And do I need anything else after formating to start again the phone??

The results would be factory reset.The 6600 will be in the out of the box state.You don't need anything else to start the phone again.

I am certainly doing something wrong, I typed *#7370# without SIM card nor MMR but the only thing which was changes is my theme which reverted to the NOKIA original one. Could youplease tell me what I am doing wrong??

Just remove the MMC because *#7370# doesn't format the MMC.

Sorry to bother you again, my question is certainly basic for you, but what is the exact procedure? With the phone ON? OFF? I type that as a phone number???

Plug the charger in(the procedure need a lot of power),remove the MMC,type the code on the main screen(like a number),the in should ask you for the phone lock code,type the lock code press yes and wait.The whole procedure should be over in 1-3 minutes.

Thanks for your help, it worked. The only problem is that the phone reverted not to the manufacturing standard but to the Orange standard, i.e. Orange screen saver, Orange theme, Orange wap/gprs access etc...
Do you know what should I do to really erase all this Orange stuff??

Get your phone flashed with Non Orange,original Nokia firmware in your local Nokia Service Centre.

All what Orange stuff?

The only Orange stuff is the Startup screen and stuff that came on MMC card.

If you dislike Orange so much, then why did you buy an Orange 6600 ? LOL 😃 😃 😃

Mine is provider unlocked also....no problem at all.

Just use a DCT4 unlocker.

It's not a matter of unlocking the phone. Originally I bought it with Orange as operator, and apperently they laod a soft which manages the WAP/GPRS and only allows you to go to their site. Even if you put another operator SIM Card and you configure the phone with this new operator settings, you cannot access WAP.
I formatted my phone via *#7370# but the phone only reverted to the Orange first definition. I am stucked,
