Synchronising Contacts with Outlook 2003

3 replies · 3,493 views · Started 22 February 2004

Ok I have been searching for a solution to this for days, but still no help.

As some of you might know, outlook stores telephone numbers like this: +country (area) number (eg +31 (70) 1234567)

If I synchronise with the phone the number gets moved to the phone in the same format. Of course the telephone doesn't support brackets and all, which leads to problems.

I have found a way to make outlook not use brackets, but it still uses spaces. The phone can handle spaces when calling, but when I am being called it doesn't display the correct contact person because of the spaces.

I would appreciate it if someone can help me with this because I am getting very annoyed 😊

Thanks!

Don't understand much about your problem. All my phone num has thefollowing format : +33 (x) xx xx xx xx and it works very well on the phone.

Ok I have an answer for you;

If you use the Country extensions of Outlook it fucks (sorry to swear) your phone numbers.
Better to give in the phone number by hand:
(e.g. NOT: +31 (70) 1234567 --> BUT: 0031701234567)
This way it saves the information properly and it can synchonize without any problem with outlook.

To be honoust do not use the Country settings for a contact. It realy makes everything a lot more difficult.

I am using my Nokia 6600 and my boyfriend uses his 8910i this way without any problem. Synchonizing never got easier.

If you have any questions about this subject ask me.
