my 256 mb kingmax mmc was working fine till i bought a card readerto transfer files quicker so i thought i would give the phone a format then re install everything and now the card wont be recongnised ive only had it about a week now 😞
ive tried copying the original nokia cards contents then pasteing it onto the new one but still wont recognise is there anything i can do ?

Well I have read lot's of posts about MMC cards.
There are even VERY VERY VERY clear sticky subjects about this.
Nokia supports up to 128Mb MMC cards. They even say that your warrenty expires when using higher MB cards.

If you search this forum you should find a lot of information about this subject.

Sorry that I haven't got a good answer for you, but search and you shall find, promise!!!

Good luck.

What is the brand of your card?
If you add this to the sticky forum you could help people out which card they can use and how to use it.

Nice to hear it is working.

Sorry you have some bad experience here, with nobody replying. They helped me out a lot, so keep trying if you have questions.
(but remeber to search first. 😛 )

i do search but everyone being different and haveing different wordings for things it can be a painfull and piss poor experience so i get bored after a page or so
my brand is kingmax just wont let me install im haveing to copy from my original nokia card to this through copy and paste with the card reader mind u its very quick 😊

Yeah i know.
Sometimes searching is a real drag...well not the searching but finding an answer.

There should me a sticky (hint) with a reminder to make good quality subjects. So not something like:

Help me, Trouble with me phone, or This happend, how to change?

No:

Sync using outlook 2003: Not working with + signs
or
How can I remove my 9 sec. video limit?

Those are clear subjects...

good luck.

Once you have been here a while you will have read most posts so that is not essential about the subjects, but i know what you mean!!
I am sure i read about Kingmax mmc problems here,so search and you WILL find.
Keep smiling😊

I use a kingmax 256mb on an N-gage and 6600 - two differnet cards which I constantly use a card reader to transfer files with. I have never (touch wood) had a problem. The only thing I can think of is that you had some stuff installed on the card like apps which linked through to the operating system on the phone. when you formatted the phone this caused problems reading from the card as the links were gone.

Yeah, Kingmax cards arenst really fone compatable as they say... they will work.... except u need to have it formatted by a camrea etc... or as it came. If u format via fone it mucks it up somehow... thaths why I sent mine back and got a TEC one that works fine.

Solve it by reformatting it by a camera and then creating the folders manually (system etc...)... maybe formatting from the card reader might work... dunno
