A stop and unintentional sight at one of Sony Ericssons representative who was working with his laptop (I know that peeking is not nice, but it just occurred like this). The notebook was displaying companys perspectives on European market for current year. The fact that the company will release 6 models was mentioned. Lets start from the oldest model, it is P1000 (Linea 3), the successor of smartphone P900. The main difference is support of new screen, WiFi, bigger memory amount and some other slight innovations. The model will be released in October, November and will cost around 750 euros

nokia 9500?
motorola mpx?
se 1000?
i right now have no idea what to choose?😕 😕 😕
The 9500 is the only device with a FULL QWERTY keyboard,so its on the top of my list.
doesnt the motorola have one 2?
http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=642&source=HOMETOP
the only thing bad about the motorola was its not symbian, other than that its fine
who knows microsoft could be nice?😃
also the only diffrfence i could find was the os,1.3mp camera, avalable 2nd quarter and supports sd
but i couldnt find how much internel memory?
I was able to touch-type on the old Communicator, with my both hands. The keyboard on the Motorola can only be used for thumb-typing.If you have any more questions on the Motorola there is an already open discussion here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=157445#post157445
Don't expect too much of the camera.
isn't the mpx HUGE ?
it looks very promising until you realise it's the size of two pocket pc's !
i suppose it's unrealistic to cram so many features into a smaller package.
IMO,they should'v made it a little taller so they could do a better job with the keyboard. This way,the keyboard is not really usable unless you have baby fingers and the design is too square for my taste.

Well, here are some short movies about the MPx, so you can judge for yourself

IMO it's not really very big compared to other smartphones
delta,
you are indeed right - it looks really quite useable after all.
very nice indeed.

A P1000 that is not 3G will not be worth having. I have a P900 and A920. I am very impressed with how quick a 1mg file can be downloaded by a 3g phone (faster than my ADSL 500kbs line!) - a P900 with at 3G download speeds would be a killer device.

And lets not forget WiFi! That will make life cheaper.... (and faster offcourse)
A biger portion of this planet is not covered with 3G networks.Right now,3G means nothing to me.
ok ppl dont get to excited
the phone may never be available or announced
and why is it se 1000? i doubt it it will probably be se950 or something
But what about the "new screen", mentioned in the article? Is it a 256k color screen? Or might it be an altered resolution (probably not if it is still running UIQ, or is it)?
About 3G: Is it so hard to implement 3G, but still make it backwards compatible? It would keep everybody happy and make for a killer device. But I agree with ghostdog that 3G is not a priority. Maybe in 2 years.

yep it is very hard to make it backwards compatible. Totally different technology, that is why you can achieve so huge performance differences. But it is under deployment in most European countries and most CDMA installations (basically in USA) are supporting compatibility features (as far as I know). The main issue I supose is to make phones which are supporting both 2G and 3G networks.
Well, the 15th of July SE will present new models, maybe a P900's successor too (I'm on holiday "unfortunately", could anyone mail me if there is some news: herbertdijkman AT hetnet.nl thanx in advance).
Maybe the Qwerty-upgrade will become available for the P900 too
