Problem in Backing Up — Nokia 7650 — All About Symbian Forum Archive

I tried backing up my 7650 using the PC Suite for Nokia 7650 software which came with the CD. It appears that all my data were backed up except my contacts. This message window appeared on my PC screen while backing up using IR:

"A problem occurring backing up c:\system\Data\Contacts.cdb because it is in use. Please close all programs on the Nokia device and try again."

I am sure that all programs are closed so I don't know what is causing this problem. In addition, I was able able to backup my fone (including contacts) a couple of months ago without any hitch.

Have you guys encountered this problem before? Anyone knows a solution? Thanks!

This has been asked before but basicaly you have to install Psiloc Systemtools and enter flight mode to copy that file.

Sigh..... does not work. In flight mode, IR nor BT cannot be activated thus I cannot connect to the Nokia suite and initiate the back-up process. Any more suggestions?

You'll probably find that PC suite on the cd is the old version. Download the latest version from www.nokia.com

Strange problem indeed... what software do you have installed (as listed in manager)?
