While I'm on a call, the keyguard comes on, meaning that I have to press menu * before I can hang up the call!!
This is driving me nuts - I spent a whole 2 hour train ride with the phone and manual and couldn't work out what to change, so I'd be grateful for some help

Are you running any other apps in the background such as a file manager or similar?
the 6600 doesnt have any auto keypad lock built in so there must be a 3rd party app thats doing it.
How can you only press menu * to unlock your phone?
I was just told that the only way to autolock your phone is using a code, or using an extra program...
Maybe I'm not describing this well enough.
If you press menu then * (i.e the left hand button next to the joystick), it will lock the keypad. To unlock it you press it again. This is not a third party app - its standard nokia. This lock comes on whilst I'm in a call, so I assume it must be a time related thing. I want to change the interval on this delay

Yes the Menu * lock is standard but the automatic timing that activates it isnt standard. Another app must be doing it. Unless youve had the firmware updated and its now included in the latest firmware??? Anyone else know?
As far as i'm aware there is no option to automatically lock the keypad after a set time.
Its version 3.42.1 software. Nothing else installed - and a PITA!

i have 3.42.1 on mine and there is no option for an auto keypad lock. either u have missed an app somewhere or its faulty
must be a fault mate i am on my 4th 6600 now and none of them had auto lock.download the jjl keylock,
Best keypad lock is this one, you don't need AUTOEXEC.

With this program while you are in conversation, the phone doesn't lock automatically. You should try things before sending answers...

You still need to find out why its doing it automatically though. Try installing autoexec or similar app and use it to see if any apps are configured to load automatically.
What network are you with, maybe they have their own customised firmware put on phone which has the auto option?

i downloaded the file and tried...
surprisingly, the keylock comes on whilst on call...
i set at 05:00 mins inactivity time.
my conversation lasted 12 mins and the phone was locked...
i need to menu + * to unlock b4 hanging up...
disappointed...
maybe it's just my phone?

Hi,
Don't understand, in addition when someone calls you don't have to unlock your phone to answer. You should perhaps format your phone via *#7370# to come-back to the original conf. and then install again the soft. It works fine on my mobile.

What phone you are using?
Have just changed the memory card in mine, the new card is freshly formatted and has no apps on it. The phone shows no apps installed but the phone is autolocking!!!!
An autolock program was installed on the old card, I guess the autolock program must alter a registry setting (or Nokia equivalent) to make this feature work.
A nice side effect if you want an autolock, annoying if you don't! I guess the only way to switch off this feature would be to install an autolock program that allow you to disable it!! 😃

Remove autolock application by using application manager ("MANAGER" on your phone's main menu) and boot your phone, it should be removed then!
Alternative way is to remove it by using FExplorer
(FOLLOW THIS ORDER)
1. Go to C:\system\recogs
2. remove autolockrec.mdl
3. Go to C:\system\apps
4. Remove AutoLock folder
5. Boot your phone.
Will this app work with the Nokia 7610??? I would like to have auto lock with configurable time on my mobile. Has anyone tried this on the N7610???

i downloaded it as well and it locks on me . its really buggin me/do you know of any others i can try
