I've bought my 6600 just 2 weeks ago, installed, tried and uninstalled many programs and have formatted my 6600 (Green+3+*) and my MMC several times in order to get back my fresh 6600.
Everything works fin, except..
The screensaver.
Now as far as I know there are only two settings to modify the screensaver:
1. Timeout
2. Date & time <> Text
Nothing else, right ?
And I have noticed that if there is any info, such as keylock, new sms, missed call, etc. a second, gray bar appears right under the main bar which is displaying time & date (or text).
And it should remain in the display I guess.
But it doesn't. Sometimes it appears and moves together with the main bar and then it suddenly disappears.
Sometimes it appears and disappears after the 1-minute-cycle when the main bar jumps to another row.
This is strange.
Is that normal ?
Has anyone else noticed this ?
Or is it possible that I have damaged any of the system files in ROM by installing any application?
I have no problems with the signs.
Keylock, message icon and so on appear under the screensaver bar, but the second bar (which is also shown in the user's manual in themes section) mostly doesn't.
Pls help.

There are a few errors like this with the phone,you will probally find a few more with time.
Mine occasionally answers when you press "silence" the call,consider yourself lucky if this is your only problem!

I expect someone will have a few ideas about it tho!

Yes, this is not a vital problem for me and of course there are also other things I care about this phone but I would like to know why this happens.
Or if this is normal, maybe this is the behavior of the screensaver, nothing else.
What about yours ?
Does the screensaver appear in two bars if you have keylock on for example ?
And does it remain until you use your phone ?

Telling the truth I was surprised that nobody was able to help me.
Neither here, nor at Nokia Customer Care..
In fact, there are more important things around this phone to care about..
But I care about all..
However, finally I have found the reason for double- and single-bar screensaver and I would like to share it here:
Actually it makes no sense, at least for me, but if the signal strength of the phone is any less than 100% the second bar becomes visible.
As soon as you get in an area where the phone is able to get ful signal from the operator it just disappears.

Thats actually quite a good idea, so if i take a quick glance at the phone and there is no visible bar I know its got full signal and dont need to worry about calls getting through etc.
If I see the bar then I know signal is down so I can then check to see if there is any signal at all.....good idea IMO
I very much doubt thats how it is supposed to be,
Every single 6600 seems to have its own personality lol.😊
Thing is I'm sure he is right, The bar does come on if I walk into a room with poor signal and goes off when I walk back outside so i'm sure its correct. 😊
yeha my message alert otne works like every other time on discreet. wierd simple just do not use it lol
