When I bought my phone, it had a trail version of Photographer on. I didn't really use it so deleted it. I now recently heard that taking photos with photographer makes the quality better. Is this true? Does anyone have any examples? I don't want to install some program that just takes up memory if it doesn't really do anything...

Yes ... both third party apps... Photographer or FlexiCam for example take better pics than the default nokia app..
Mostly because you can get a less compressed (higher quality) JPG or even save on BMP formats...
