Hi all...
I've had my 6600 for about 2 months now...and all in all its a gr8 phone...BUT
one real annoyance is the messaging. now and again when I send a text the phone either doesnt send it or sends it and says it has failed. any messages after that stick in the outbox with the words failed or deferred on them.. I have to move them to drafts and then reboot the phone...
can anyone suggest a fix for this, I have tried formatting the phone but with the problem been intermittent its a bit hard to find out if the problem still exists until it happens again....
Phone set up to use the sender's message center? If so, don't; use your own operator's message center only.
Is the message center number for your operator set up correctly?
Usually the operator stores the message center on the SIM, and the phone picks it up automatically (that's the default anyway).
In the 6600 go to "Messaging", then hit "Options", select "Settings" -> "Text message" and select "SIM msg. centre".
While there, check that "Reply via same ctr." is "No" (as mentioned above).
Alternately, ask your operator for the correct message center number to use, and set the phone to use it manually (same "Settings" place as above).
make sure the person you are replying to has the 'same center' option set to no also.
I couldn't reply to my wife's txts until she changed her setting to no.
Seems to be a problem that only appears now and again, since I posted I have turned off reports, and so far so good I have not had the error...wonder if for some reason the report was either failing or getting stuck causing the phone to glitch....!
