Hi people,
Simple question. Hard to find an answer:
How do you change the softkey's to shortcut to other things? i.e. get rid of the 'go to' button and replace it with something more useful?
I don't really want to have to purchase AppMan or anything, so if software is need, please refer me to a freeware version.
Thanks
Bryan
Settings / Phone / Standby mode
Unfortunately you can only assign phone internal functions to the keys and no 3rd party apps. 😞

There is no freeware version.
Is this still the case?
I have recently bought a 6600 and although I love many aspects of the design, some are enormously irritating.
I have set "New Msg" to the left soft key but I still have to wait 1-2 seconds for the menu to pop-up before (99% of the time) I select "Text Message". I so rarely send picture messages that this is just annoying. On my z600 I could just push the joystick to the left to instantly be presented with a blank sms.
I would certainly buy an an application that would allow you to launch directly into the functionality within a program.

What do you assigned to the right soft key? Do you use that app more than messaging? If not, swap them over, the pause is there because the phone is giving you time to press * and lock the keypad. If you move messaging over to the right soft key, there won't be that delay.
Thanks! That really works! Although now I have to wait longer for the calendar option to come up on the left key! ;-( I guess you just can't have everything.
It would still be nice if I could press a button to go direct into a text message. ANy ideas?
Thanks
You're supposed to be able to by mapping right soft key within the new AquaCalendar, but whenever I try it, AquaCalendar crashes 😡 I'm waiting for AquaWell to sort this problem, although I know he/she has a lot of other 'bugs' to sort out.
Other than that - no idea's :con? Sorry
