Hi Everyone!
I have huge problems with my Nokia 6600 - well actually it's my third 6600 and the problem is not solved! 😕
I baught it and it was O'K for about one week. Than suddenly turned off. I was able to turn it on again but after couple of hours it turned off again. And keeped turning off every 2-10 houres.
I took it to Nokia Service Centre - they tested it, changed soft and stuff...
But it didn't help. It keeped turning off every couple of houres.
I took it back to service - again test, soft-change, etc. Of course it gived nothing. After three vistes at service thay gaved me new model of 6600.
But amazingly it also started to turn off. So they gave me third one and yestarday it also turned off and three times since. 😡
I am 😕 and don't know what to do? I am tired this. I've tried to find enyone here in Poland having this problem but it seems that I am only one to have this (in three pieces!!!)
Has enyone here have or heared about same things with N6600???
Thanks for your help.
BTW: I've also changed my SIMcard but it didn't help.
could it be an overheat issue?
What a nightmare, this is a long standing problem for Nokia!
5110,3310,3330,8210 to name a few,and now 6600!
Ok, this may sound stupid, but it might help.
I think the contact points of your battery are the issue.
Put a small piece of paper/cardboard on the top of the battery and then place the back cover on the phone. This increases the preasure on the battery, this helped with all the phones I had (3310, 5210, 7110, 6210, 6310i). (wheew...I have had a lot of phones 😛 )
Also check if you power on/off button is back in it's old position.
If it hangs just a bit, it can switch on and off without a problem...
good luck.
I had a similar problem, I think the real problem is the innacuracy of the battery meter, i.e it looks like you have quite a bit of power left but it is actually low.
Mine would power off when it got low (2 days) but would still show several bars on the battery meter and would boot back up for a bit.
What you could do.
Let your battery go flat entirly!
Untill it automatically shuts down.
Start it up again, let it go flat...NO RECHARGING!
it would go out again, start after a few minute wait.
When it won't go on again, put it in the recharger...DO NOT TURN IT ON! let it load for a few hours, just let it load...do not turn it on!
after a few hours, disconnect from your charger and startup...
then the bat. is reaaaaaaly gone from empty to full.
just to add after owning the phone for a month its stopped doing it.
Go to the dealer or visit a Nokia Service point.
(maybe the best option 😉 )
good luck..
Thank you all for help.
Turtle: What a coincidence!!! - I did yeasterday exactly what you wrote above (the recharge). And... It helped (so far)!
It's been working for about 30 hours now and seems to be O'K.
As some of you said, I also think it's power/charge problem. I will test it for couple of days more and will see what to do next.
Ok m8,
nice to be of help.
Keep us informed about the progress...

No problems since my last post! 😊
It looks like full discharge and full recharge solved finally my problem. 😎
😊
glad to be of help.
people helped me out too.
Don't forget it needs a long charge before first use - this is something often not done and can (but not normally) have a detremental effect.
Although it usually only has a "Detremental Effect" on future battery life.
