N-Gage Adverts Get Banned

Sometimes I wonder why in this country we have such fcukwits in positions of responsibility.

Apparently the one in the caravan with the 3 girls "could encourage sexual violence towards women". Sorry mods... but what utter BOLLOKCS.

Won't someone please lead a revolution against such blatent stupidity?

Actually I totally agree with the ASA

They are offensive, and anyone who doesn't think so just isn't giving them enough thought.

The complaint that people may see them when exposed to situations of increased threat, is a valid one.
And also a sad reflection on the state of our society that watchdogs have to take this into account.

To associate gaming in a humorous manner with the idea that people are having to beg for mercy in an isolated spot.

Would that advert be suitable a day after the Soham girls were found murdered?
Certainly not, and it isn't right any other time either.

Three cheers for our moral guardians who decide what we can and cannot look at and what words we can hear on TV and radio. Without these people we'd have all sorts of rapes, murders and kiddy-fiddling within society.

I'm off to bed now safe in the knowledge that big brother is looking out for me. Big licks to Cowboy George, the ASA, the Pope and Mary Whitehouse for knowing what was good for me and what would have turned me into an axe-wielding homicidal maniac.

Sheriff John Bunnell can have the night off. All the criminals are safely tucked in.... in jail.

I dont think the complaints were upheld do to their objections, but due to corporate and monetary needs. I wont go any further into saying what exactly but I have seen more offensive material out there that has never been shot down.

P.s If it is ofensive to bring up subjects that can affect a persons psyche due to there mental or physical state or even situations they have experienced then why does England have such hard hitting adverts about cancer and drink driving!

anyone who is offended by those commercials need to open there eyes, there are a lot more worse things out there.

If it wasn't for the asa, we'd have adverts like that one recently where the cockroach came out of the babys mouth. I haven't seen the ngage adverts so i cant comment on them, but they must have had quite a lot of complaints. Also, the asa can't force anyone to withdraw adverts, so nokia must have thought it wasn't worth the hassle and/or they thought the asa had a good enough case to take them to court(with the office of fair trading/advertising). And also, cancer/drink driving/drug adverts need to be strong because otherwise it does nothing to stop the viewer and that defeats the purpose of the advert. Finally just because they are worse things out there, doesn't mean people want/have to see them.

I understand the cause for the cancer/drink driving adverts is greater than selling a game platform but the medium is the same and the outcome. Both are remembered due to their shocking nature. I am not discussing what the adverts are selling but rather the way it is sold and what emotions it provokes. Which in both cases it is shock and interest!

These adverts getting banned is generating so much news on the web its probably the best publicity the N-Gage has had so far 😱
